The next day, as I was getting out of bed I could barely move. It took me a while before I was able to get the covers off of me and for me to stand up. I slowly lifted my shirt to see the worst bruises I had ever seen. My whole stomach was black and blue. I was surprised none of my ribs were broken.

I slowly got dressed in sweatpants and a sweatshirt. I walked into the bathroom and brushed my teeth and hair before putting it up into a ponytail. I didn't want to go to school, but I couldn't risk anyone thinking I was acting suspiciously.

I walked down the stairs to see everyone already in the dining room. They were all sitting and eating. Jane was even sitting with them. She was smiling and laughing at something Cody had said.

"It's nice of you to finally join us." My father grumbled not even bothering to look up from his paper. I could tell that everyone was still mad at me, but I couldn't tell them the truth about what happened. I would never be allowed to go anywhere by myself ever again.

"What in the world are you wearing?" My mother complained. I looked down at my attire before looking back up at her.

"Clothes?" I answered, yet my answer somehow still came out as a question.

"You look homeless. Go change." She ordered. I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms.

"No." I argued.

"No? Did you just say no to me?" She quizzed. I rolled my eyes again.

"You know what mother? I did just tell you no. I am not changing, because guess what? I'm not naked! I am wearing clothes that cover my body! At least I don't look like a slut!" I yelled. She stood up from her chair and stormed over to me.

"You don't get to tell me no! I am your mother!"

"Yeah well, you haven't acted like my mother for a long time!" I yelled. The room went silent. I saw Jane's smile drop. Cody and my father looked like they wanted to interrupt but didn't know how. Thankfully, Conner wasn't there so I didn't have to look at him.

"What is that supposed to mean?"

"Don't act so innocent mother! It's like you don't even notice me anymore! You act as if I'm not good enough to be around you! You don't notice the bullying! You really have no right to call yourself my mother when you won't even realize that your daughter is getting bullied by her sister!" I yelled.

"Jane? Is that true?" Cody questioned turning to look at her. She looked at her lap and slowly nodded.

"That's it! Both of you girls are grounded!" Father yelled.

"Why am I grounded?" I whined.

"Well let's see. For one, you are arguing, and two you just yelled at your mother. Now, none of you are going to school today as you are already late. Go to your rooms. I do not want to see you until dinner. Now!" He pointed up the stairs and we all slowly walked up the stairs.

Cody slammed his door shut, while Jane looked at me for a second before quietly closing hers. I closed my door and almost screamed as I turned around to see someone on my bed.

"What was all that yelling about?" Conner questioned standing up to walk towards me. I quickly locked my door before looking at the ground.

"I kind of yelled at my mother," I whispered. He took the last step towards me before putting his hand on my waist. I slightly screamed out in pain making him quickly move his hand as if my waist was on fire.

"I barely touched you?" He looked so confused. I looked at the ground before slowly lifting my shirt up so he could see my stomach and waist. I knew that he would have found out either way. "What happened?" He questioned. I could tell that he was getting super mad. His breathing was starting to get labored and he was clenching his fists.

"Don't worry about it. I'm fine." He didn't look convinced so I took his face in my hands and whispered, "I'm fine," before taking his lips in mine.
