Recap:

"Erika, why aren't you looking at me?" He asked, lifting my chin up with his finger. My eyes drifted upwards to his. The dark orbs held so much passion I felt my heart stop. They flickered down to my lips before meeting my eyes again. I didn't know what I was thinking, but I captured his lips in mine.

I kissed him in the middle of a busy school hallway, and for once I didn't think about the consequences. All I could think about was the boy who I was kissing.

"Mr. Bakely and Miss Heart please report to the principal's office this second!" A voice screamed through the intercom making us jump apart. Everyone in the hallways around us was staring, including my sister's best friend Cassie.  She was smirking at me as she typed something on her phone.

"I guess we better go," Conner whispered. I nodded and followed him to the principal's office. It was the first time that I had gone to the principal's office. I had tried all throughout my student education to not get sent to the principal's office. I always heard and read stories that terrified me. I couldn't stand to know that if I got detention or anything worse it would be on my permanent record.

"What do you think she's going to say and do? Do you think she'll expel us?" I stressed. I could see him rolling his eyes from the corner of my eye.

"Don't worry about it. People kiss in the hallways all the time. Haven't you seen Veronica and Jonathon on the way to class every day? I'm sure that she won't do anything other than reprimand us." His response did nothing to calm me down.

Finally, after what seemed forever, we reached the office. As soon as we stepped into the room, the secretary rushed us into the principal's office. Principal Smith was sitting behind her desk with an agitated look on her face.

"Please sit down." She waited for us to sit down before continuing, "Now, I understand that kids these days think that they are so cool and popular when they kiss in the hallways, but they are wrong. YOU are wrong. If this happens again you are both expelled for good! For now, you both have detention for the rest of the week." She yelled. I could feel tears stinging in my eyes, but I wouldn't let any of them fall.

"Are you sure that we can't at least get a warning? This is my first time doing anything bad in this school. Please, Principal Smith." I pleaded. She was still glaring at me which meant that I wasn't going to get a warning.

"No. You may leave." She pointed to the door and turned back to her computer. Conner and I slowly got up and left. My heart was racing and my mind was turning.

"Hey, don't worry about it. Everything is going to be okay. It's just detention." Conner commented. I knew he was just trying to make me feel better, but it wasn't working. All I could think about was how Cody was going to react.
