To say I was stressing out would be an understatement. I felt like I could barely breathe. It was finally my last class of the day, but I knew after that class I would have to go to detention where I would spend one hour only to leave and go home to my family who would yell at me or call me stupid. Not to mention, I would have to go home with the boy I kissed in the hallway who also lives with us.

"Would you just stop stressing already?! God, I can't even focus with you constantly chewing your nails like it's going to do something!" Jane whisper-yelled, kicking me with her heeled foot.

"Miss Heart, pay attention!" The teacher yelled. To my surprise, he was looking at me and not Jane. "Miss Heart, do I need to send you to the principal's office?" He yelled once more. I quickly shook my head and he went back to the lesson. Jane was sitting beside me on her phone and when she set it down I could see she was gossiping to her friends about everything.

Tears filled my eyes once again. It hurt knowing that my own twin sister would do something so vile and mean. Sure, I knew she was capable of it after her spilling my starving secret to, not only our family but to the whole school. I just wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt. After all, she had started being nicer and acting as she cared, but I guess people never change.

As soon as the bell rang, I jumped up and sped out the door. I didn't want to go to detention, but I didn't want to spend another second in a room with people laughing at me and my sister talking about me to her friends.

Conner was already sitting down when I finally got the detention classroom. Our meanest teacher was the one doing the detention that day. She had always hated me, and it was a wonder why she had never sent me to the office before. Apparently, Cody had done something to her his freshman year which made her hate me too. Jane was the only one she liked.

"Miss Heart, you are five minutes late! Would you like to explain to me why you are late?" She yelled slamming her hands on her desk.

"My class was on the other side of the building," I whispered, looking down at my shoes. I could hear some students in the back of the classroom laughing which didn't make me feel any better.

"That is no excuse! 10 minutes have been added to your detention today!" I didn't even say anything back. If I did, it would just make everything worse, so I just went and sat down next to Conner. "Alright, I want absolutely no talking. If I catch someone talking 30 minutes will be added. I want you all to write down the words on the board for the whole hour. Begin." She stated. I looked up at the board to see the words, "I will not break the rules again."

I saw some kids roll their eyes in my peripheral vision. I got out a piece of paper from my bag, as well as a pencil, and started writing down the phrase. After writing it about 20 times, my hand was cramping and hurting. I decided to take a small break, but of course, Ms. Johnson was watching me the whole time.

"Miss Heart continue writing, or I will be forced to add more time!" I sighed but continued writing.

It seemed like forever, but I was finally allowed to leave. She had decided that she was going to add more time so I had to continue writing 20 minutes after everyone else had left. I was hoping that Conner hadn't left so I didn't have to walk. But God never listens, and Conner was gone when I stepped out of the building. To add to everything else, it was starting to rain.

As I started my trek home, I noticed a lot of creepy people hanging around. I was almost home when I noticed one of them right behind me.

"Hey! You!" He called out. I started to walk faster, but he ran until he was right beside me. "What are you doing out here all alone? A pretty thing like you shouldn't be left alone." He asked. I kept my head down and didn't answer any of his questions. I guess he wasn't used to that though. He grabbed my arm and pulled me into him. "I asked you a question. Don't scream." That was the last thing I remember before everything went dark.
