soobin: "Hi."

y/n: "Hi. Also, sorry if you hear running water in the background. I'm washing vegetables. Or, wait, I can put you on speaker."

soobin: (laughs) "That works, too."

y/n: "Can you hear me?"

soobin: "Loud and clear."

y/n: "Alright, so what did you want to practice today?"

soobin: "I want to practice my pronunciation."

y/n: "Ah, okay. Common question for my other students."

soobin: "I forget that you have other students besides me."

y/n: "That might be because you're the one I talk with the most."

soobin: "Am I your star pupil?"

y/n: "Honestly? No."

soobin: "Ouch."

y/n: (laughs) "Well, my other students are all older than you. They're older than me, and they basically just want additional help on how to phrase certain sentences and whatnot."

soobin: "I'll just pretend that you said I'm your star pupil."

best friend: "Flirting!"

soobin: "What did she say?"

y/n: "N-nothing. So, I have some exercises that can help you with your pronunciation. They're kind of like tongue twisters. Are you ready? We'll go slow."

soobin: (in English) "Ready."

y/n: "I dare."

soobin: "I dar-reh."

y/n: "...alright, you're close. When you have to say words with r in it, don't let your tongue touch the roof of your mouth. Try again."

soobin: "Okay. I dare."

y/n: "There! You got it! Let's continue. Now say: I dare you to."

soobin: "I dare you to."

y/n: "Good. Now the full sentence: I dare you to go there."

soobin: "I dare you to go... (in Korean) making the 'th' sound is hard for me."

y/n: "That's okay, it's another common problem. So when you make the 'th' sound, your tongue usually touches the back of your front teeth. It's like you're about to hiss, but don't make an 's' sound. Does that make sense?"

soobin: "Yes. Okay. Let me try: I dare you to go there."

y/n: "Perfect!"

soobin: "Really?"

y/n: "I promise. I would tell you if it wasn't good."

soobin: "Okay. Any more phrases?"

y/n: "Grade."

soobin: "Ger-rade."

y/n: "Almost. Say 'grr.'"

soobin: "Grr."

y/n: "Good. Now try 'gray.'"

soobin: "Ger-ray. Ah. Let me try again. Grr... gray. Gray!"

y/n: "Good! Now add the 'd' sound at the end."

soobin: "Grade. Oh! Grade! I got it!"

y/n: "See? You can do it, Soobin."

yeonjun: "Soobin, we have to go."

soobin: "Okay. Hey y/n, sorry, I've got to go. I'll message you."

y/n: "Of course, no problem."

soobin: "Alright, bye. Love you."

y/n: "Love you."

(call ended)

best friend: "Did you hear what he just said?"

y/n: "Yeah. He said..."

best friend: "Yes?"

y/n: "Oh."

best friend: "And you said?"

y/n: "Oh."
