Nang kaming dalawa na lang ni Silver ang natira sa sala, naupo ako sa sofa at ganun din siya. Hinilig niya ang ulo sa balikat ko at hinilig ko naman ang ulo sa kanya. I could tell by the sound of her breathing that she's tired and burdened. I couldn't help but ask.
"Anong sinabi ng doktor?" Tanong ko lalo't wala ako nang kausapin sila nito. Umalis kasi ako upang asikasuhin ang mga papeles ni Slade lalo't ginamit ko ang koneksyon ni Lolo upang wala na silang ibang aalalahin.
"It's bad." Huminga nang malalim si Silver. "But it's not your fault, okay?"
"How bad?" Napapikit ako, mabigat pa rin ang kalooban.
"Slade broke his arm which caused him to sustain an injury on his Radial Nerve. He must've used his arm to protect his head that's why it received the most impact from the crash. Importante ang radial nerve sa paggalaw ng mga braso, kamay, at kahit ng daliri natin. The doctor said that the numbness of his arm could just be temporary, maybe in a few months, he'd be able to move and feel with his hands again... but it will never be the same anymore. He'll be in so much pain from time to time... physically and emotionally." Nanlulumong sambit ni Silver. Kahit hindi ko nakikita ang mukha niya, alam kong sa mga sandaling iyon ay umiiyak na siya. "Th-the doctor told him he won't be able to play the guitar anymore."
Nahigit ko ang hininga dahil sa narinig pero pinilit kong huwag bumigay sa sarili kong emosyon. Silver is at her most vulnerable, Slade too. I can't cry. I have to be strong for the both of them. I need to get my shit together and help them as much as i can and I can't do that if I'll be a slave of my own emotions. It's time to wear my mask. I have to.
"If Slade didn't protect his head from the impact, maybe I lost him... but with his injury now, pakiramdam ko mawawala pa rin siya sa akin." Silver sobbed softly as if she was trying her best not to. "Hindi ko alam anong gagawin ko. I want to tell our parents but he made me promise not to."
I hugged her as she cried. "It's okay. Slade's one tough demon, he'll prevail over this. Dad and I will do everything to help out kaya mag focus ka lang sa classes mo. I will use my Grandpa's connections, I'll help look for the best doctor so in no time, Slade will be back up the stage and rocking out again. You have to trust me on this."
