A woman like that

83 6 3

She'll turn you like pages in a book
And pull you apart like clay
She'll mould you to a perfect prince
And take her time to break you to pieces
She'll make you feel like the centre of the world
She'll burn you with her fingertips
And make you beg and plead for more
Plastering a label on your forehead
She'll keep you on a collar,
And never far from sight
She's a girl with a ancient library of words
That could be the most exquisite thing to see
The most beautiful thing to hear
And yet, can be the most damaging to erase
Her words can make you feel alive or dead in a heart beat
But she won't because her power over you she sees it
Clearly
As she holds back the words she burns to say
Make sure you cherish everything she does or says
Because maybe one day, you'll be on the other side of the war
