Trigger: mention of sc*rs.
I get when they say I need to love myself before others
Because if I do not love myself, then how will I let in
The words of those who love me
The faded sheet that covers my eyes so I cannot see
How much they love me
If I do not love myself
Then how can I let another please me so,
If I think I do not deserve it
I finally understand what I must do so I'm worthy of them
To love myself is a journey, one so vast and long
I've many scars which I see with disdain
And maybe at the end I'll see them as battle scars
Of a war I won, and lived.__________________________
