Soul Society

"Ichigo!" Ganju shouted as he ran towards Ichigo and Renji who were both unconscious. "Hey, Ichigo! Say something!"

"Hey! Someone's coming! Three... maybe more." Hanatora said.

"Let's retreat for now. We can't let them find us."

"Yes!" Hanatora said as he picked up Ichigo's zanpakuto and followed Ganju.

Just as they disappeared Izuru and three other shinigami arrived only to see an unconscious Renji on the ground.

"That's .."

"Lieutenant Abarai!"

Izuru gasped in surprise.

"Lieutenant Abarai!" The two shinigami ran towards Renji.

"Are you all right?! Sir!"

It can't be...Abarai couldn't have lost. Izuru thought as he looked at Renji who was unconscious with a shocked expression.

"His opponent seems to have gotten away." another shinigami said. "Shall we give chase?"

"No, first we must get Abarai treated." Izuru said. "Get a stretcher. We're taking him back to the barracks."

"Healing power? Without using any medicine? Ganju said.

"No, it's different with us." Hanatora said. "With other Soul Reapers, their spiritual power is mostly for combat. But our spiritual power in Squad 4 goes hand in hand with healing. Although...that's about all we can do."

"I see...And? How is Ichigo?"

Hanatora looked at Ichigo's state. "It's very bad. He took direct hits from a Lieutenant's Zanpakuto. It's to be expected. Normally, he'd have died instantly. He has an unbelievable will to live. I'll definitely heal him. Please give me some time. I'll heal him in one night."

"That's.. impossible!" Momo gasped in horror as he looked at Renji who was unconscious on the futon.

"When I found him, he was already in this condition." Izuru said. "If only I'd found him sooner and assisted his fight."

"Don't blame yourself, Kira." Momo said.

"In any case, I'll contact Squad 4. I'll ask for emergency relief."

Izuru and Momo gasped in surprise.
