Honey

Chapter Twenty Five.

"You like this one?" Marcus asked pointing to an all white casket with shiny handles. the paint was glossy and the handles glistened making it look like it was glitter. They were making Kesha's funeral arrangements. "Yeah it's ight." Honey said skimming it. Marcus signed. He could tell Honey didn't want to be doing this. "Aye man, you said that about the last two." He said. You could tell he was real stressed out. He was about to be taking on a big responsibility soon and was crashing out about it. And he was still trying to mourn through all of this.

"Marcus just get which ever one you want. Either way she's still dead. Does it matter what she's laying in?" Honey asked. She could tell her words hurt him. It got quiet and they both looked at each other with sad eyes. Marcus pulled Honey in for a hug. "Im sorry." She said. "You know I got you. We gon make it through this shit ight." He said wiping his eyes. Honey just nodded her head. Her and Marcus have been with each other ever since they heard about Kesha and Marcus has been taking it pretty hard. She was honestly really surprised.

She knew he cared about her but the way he's been coping was unbelievable. He been dropping a lot of bags on this funeral, and all the caskets they been looking at have been over 5000 dollars. He said he wanted to do right by Kesha but it seem like he's going a little overboard. He was sure that she would have wanted all of this so Honey didn't stop him. But she knew that Kesha would have been happy with just having her family there. Which is why Honey had been trying to get a hold of her mother. She hadn't seen, nor heard from her since she gave her that money she stole from Monty.

Flashback

"Momma take it." Honey said shoving hundred dollar bills in her mothers hand. But she just resisted. "Where in the world did you get all this money??" Latrice said worried. Honey bit her lips and looked down.

She knew that she wouldn't be able to tell her where she got it. It was just cause her to worry more and she wouldn't take it. "Momma here just take the money you need it." Honey said.

Her mother got quiet and looked away. It was true she did need it but she didn't want to take money from her daughter. Especially since she didn't know how she got it in the first place.

"Take the money ma. Go get clean." Honey said grabbing her hands. Latrice knew that before Honey could get better she would have too. So she took the money. Not knowing how much trouble it would cause her daughter in the near future.

Honey knew that she shouldn't have taken that money from Monty but she really wanted to help her mom. She figured Monty wouldn't worry about it because that was "chump change." to him. But little did she know. She was wrong.

End of flashback

Honey decided that she wanted to go home. She hadn't been there since that day she found out about Kesha and she was ready to be back. She walked into the empty house and was overwhelmed with sadness. She looked around and was reminded of her sister everywhere she looked. She didn't wouldn't dare go near her room. too many bad memories. She thought as she walked past it and entered her room. She looked at all the pictures on her wall. She stared at all the memories she had. With Kesha, Her friends, even Monty. She tore down a picture of her, Kesha, and Mj.

It was the day he was born and they were in the hospital bed smiling while Honey held him. They all had the biggest smiles on their faces. She smiled a little remembering the day. She pulled down another of Her and kesha while she was pregnant. She was rubbing on her belly smiling. It was the day they found out she was having another boy. They were so happy. They thought they wouldn't be able to deal with having a girl. That made Honey laugh thinking back on it.

Flashback

"I don't see why the two of y'all won't just wait." Aaliyah said. Honey and Kesha looked at her crazy. "Tuh I need to prepare myself now if i'm gone be having a girl." Kesha said. Honey agreed. "Honestly what we gone do with a little girl. Her attitude gone be on like 100 by the time she three. Just like her momma." Honey said pointing to her sister. Kesha shoved her shoulder and laughed. "No cause of her ugly ass tetes." She said. "Bro I remember when you found out you was having a boy the first time you didn't wanna talk to nobody. You was pissed." Liyah said laughing.
