Torn; Chapter Forty-Three

I looked around, not aware of where I was. I looked at the skyscrapers around me. I'd never been here, but it seemed as though I had. I walked a little ways, until I was grabbed by someone. I lashed at them, not wanting to know who they were. I felt another pair of hands on my waist. The people spun me around to face them, but I squeezed my eyes closed.

"You are okay," said a voice I didn't recognize. I opened my eyes a bit to see who it really was. Niall stood in front of me, but it wasn't his voice... or his eyes. I cocked my head looking like a confused puppy.  "I'm here," he added. I looked at him, completely lost. Who the hell was he?

"You are no-" I started, but I was immediately interrupted by music playing. I turned around to see nothing. Nobody. No music system, but music was playing! I heard it! I wasn't imagining this was I? I tried to identify the song, finally able to. It was 'The A Team' by Ed Sheeran. I continued to stare in every direction trying to find the sound system. I looked over by the tree, seeing Ed singing it. He was one of my favorite singers now, but then he stopped singing. The song continued, but his lips weren't moving. I stared awkwardly for a few seconds before turning back around.

"What's wrong?" the "Niall" voice said.

"DON'T PLAY AROUND! YOU ARE NOT NIALL JAMES HORAN. WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?!" I screamed at him. He looked lost and confused, but he wasn't my boyfriend. He never would be. EVER. He was some guy who looked like my boyfriend, but he wasn't. His voice and his eyes were too different, but they seemed to become more familiar by the second.

"I am your boyfriend, Madison," the voice said again.

"Jake," I whispered. The voice sounded like his. I looked into his eyes. "Your eyes. Your voice. JAKE!" I screamed. Before I knew it, Jake had transformed in front of me. I turned around to look for Ed, but he wasn't there.

"You are meant to be with me. I will never let you go. Ever," he whispered in my ear. I felt his breath tickle my cheek.

"NO!" I screamed, awaking from the horrid dream. I heard footsteps running down the hall. Five boys ran into my room. Harry had a baseball bat. Liam had a fork. Louis had a flaming candle. Zayn had a mirror, and Niall had probably the nearest thing to his bed; a picture of us.

"What's wrong?!" Louis yelled.

"WHO IS IN HERE?!" Harry's yell followed.

"Are you okay?" Niall asked. He ran to my side and wrapped his arms around me, letting the picture fall to the floor. My breathing was heavy. I tried to catch it, but I wasn't sure that was possible.

"Yeah... just a bad dream," I confessed.

Zayn spoke next, "About...?" I shook my head, hoping they'd just leave.

"Him?" Liam asked. I nodded slightly. They all knew it was Jake immediately. Niall's grip on my arm tightened from the anger raging inside him.

"NIALL!" Liam yelled. He grabbed his arms, seeing the pain in my eyes from Niall's grip.

"I'm sorry, princess," Niall apologized.

"It's okay, really. It didn't hurt bad," I lied.

"No it isn't. I hurt you. I shouldn't have-"

"Niall, you were just angry. I don't blame you. I never would. You're still amazing," I told him. He smiled before kissing my forehead.

"Is everything okay in here now?" Harry asked. I'd forgotten they were in here, and apparently so had Niall.

"Oh, uh... yeah," I assured the other four. Niall lifted the duvet on my bed and crawled under it as the others left the room, shouting "Good night," before leaving. Niall's arms wrapped around me, making me feel warmer than ever in my lonely bed. I smiled into his chest as we laid there.

"I will always be here. Don't ever forget that," Niall whispered to me.

"I won't," I whispered back.

"I love you, Madison."

"I love you too," I said before our lips touched.
