"Kyanna we're about to be late!" Elyse whined looking back at her friend in the mirror. Kya had been running around for the past hour sorting herself for her first scan, this was actually the first time Elyse had seen her out of bed, and dressed for that fact!
"Ite we good... lets go" Kya sighed, scanning the contents of her bag one last time, before running back to fill up her water bottle and finally following Elyse out.
Kya couldn't help but pick at her nails, sitting in the passenger seat of Elyse's car. She was so nervous, an overwhelming guilt washing over her that she was indeed going to see their child but not with the father. She had found herself drafting a few dozen letters, before sending a postcard to Kaiden and her family back home. Even that setting her into a deep depression. Elyse letting herself in to check that she was still alive morning and night. Sometimes going so far as to cook her friend meals because she knew for sure she couldn't care for herself in this state, convincing herself and Kya that it was the heightened hormones that were making this whole thing so much more worse.

As the technician showed her little baby on the screen, Kya couldn't help but burst into tears! She never knew she could love someone so much, that she hadn't even met.
"Baby will be due around 28th April. All seems good and healthy, measurements are just where we'd expect them to be... I'd say you've done a pretty good job at growing this little bean" the nurse smiled, handing Kya the string of pictures before booking in their second appointment and sending her on her way.
Kya couldn't take her eyes off the pictures in her hands, walking blindly back to the waiting room where she would meet Elyse when she was done. She blindly stumbled into someone, tearing her eyes away from her baby to quickly apologise.

"Oh! Err... sorry!" She stammered as he beamed looking through his sunglasses at her.
"No worries baby girl!" He smiled, taking one last look at her before walking off. Kya turned back into to where she was headed, finding Elyse with a smile as big as the moon.
"What?" Kya snarled.
"See you met my brother! Austin, well half brother if you want to be technical." Elyse smiled. "He works here. Probably running late..."
Kya stayed quiet, glancing at her friend who smiled. "I'll show you mine, if you show me yours." She said as they reached the car. They both had scans booked for the same day, with almost identical time slots. Jah surely knowing Kyanna needed someone to go through this with.
Kya handed Elle her sonogram, before quickly snapping up hers. The girls quickly made comparisons, placing bets on the gender. Kelvin now knew they were expecting, he was completely over the moon, a little annoyed that he now had two pregnant woman to contend with since meeting Kya.
"Boy, you think?" Kya turned her nose up at Elle, she knew in her heart that this was a girl nestled comfortably in her womb. "Nah, for sure a girl in here.... but look at he!" she said pointing at Elle's baby.
"Guess we'll have to wait and see!! When's your next one?" Elle asked stashing the sonogram in her purse.
"November 10th." Kya answered quickly adding a note in her calendar.
"Girl! This is crazy how we do everything the same... You sure we ain't been separated at birth?" Elle asked in all seriousness as Kya laughed.
