"Haha! I got you! I totally got you!" I shrieked.

"Awwww, come on! You never go easy on me!" Maya whimpered.

"Why should I?" I smirked.

Oops! I almost forgot to introduce myself.

I'm Aya. Aya Fey. Currently 20 years old. Almost 21.

And it's been quite tough since my older sisters death.

Mia was an angel. A true, pure one.

She would make ramen for all of us when Mom couldn't.

And Mom never could.

"Aya! Are you coming or not?" Maya peeked from the corner.

"Coming where?" I asked, turning off the game.

"To court! Aren't you gonna say hi to Phoenix?"

"Oh, right! I'm coming!"

I'm so excited.

"Ice creaaaaaam!" Maya smiled.

"Maya. You're 17. We are not getting ice cream." Phoenix sighed.

"Come on, Nick! Give me ice cream! It's a hot day!"

"It's 46 degrees."

"Ice cream?" She nervously chuckled.

"It's too late. We're already here." Phoenix said, stopping the car.

"Aw, come on! Turn it around! Ice cream! Come on, Aya! Ice cream!"

She started chanting 'ice cream'.

Phoenix sighed and got out of the car, opening my door.

I thanked him and walked out.

He walked by my side.

"What case is today?" I asked.

"None reported yet. I just wanted to stop by real quick. Invite some people to dinner."

"I hardly know anyone." I said.

Maya put her hand on my arm. "I think you'll enjoy dinner, though! You're quite the friendly, outgoing person, Aya!"

Phoenix nodded. "I have a feeling you'll get along with....almost everyone."

He did that nodding thing to Maya when he needed her for something, which meant I had to step aside.

They talked for a few, leaving me on the sidelines.

Eventually, they both returned.

"Oh boy." Phoenix said when it started raining.

"Oh boy indeed." Maya said, staring at something.

I followed her gaze and I don't regret a single thing.

Out came a tall man with beautiful dark silver hair.

Droplets of rain left his hair as if he just left the shower.

His burgundy coat blew with the wind and he stopped to look up at the peeking sun.

"I think I'm in--"

Phoenix grabbed me violently.

"Eheheh. Let's uh...let's go inside, shall we?" He said.

Maya nodded, but I groaned.

"You want me to make friends? I think I found my catch!" I said.

"Eheheh...I don't think he's a good idea." Phoenix said.

"Come on, Aya. I'm soaking wet!" Maya said, pulling me inside.

When Phoenix closed the door, all I could hear was the incessant panting.

"What's the deal?" I crossed my arms.

"He's bad news. That guy? Bad news. He's a meanie brat to Phoenix." Maya said.

Phoenix bursted out laughing.

"Maya, you never grow, do you?" He asked, wiping away a tear.

Maya crossed her arms and huffed.

"Is he coming for dinner?" I asked.

"Oh no no no no. Hell no." Phoenix said.

"Listen, Aya. I see you as my own little sister. I dont want you getting in trouble." He held my hands. "Hes really bad news. Not motorcycle gang bad, but hes just...bad."

"Can I talk to the people I want to?" I huffed.

"Anyone but him. Promise?"

I sighed. "I don't make promises."

"Youre so difficult." He ruffled my hair, leaving me to complain and hit his arm.

"This ramen is delicious!" Maya smiled.

I took a bite of my sandwich and sighed.

"Kinda sad everyone ditched us, though..." Phoenix took a bite of his burger.

I nodded.

"Well, my my my.." a deep voice began, leaving Phoenix to gulp.

"If it isn't Mr. Wright himself. Savoring a delicious dinner. With Ms. Maya Fey. And some...mystery lady."

I looked up at him, and to my surprise, it was the same man I'd saw walk out of the court.

Now, if this were some cheesy old anime, the character would nosebleed.

But this is real life. So I did something any gentlewoman would do.

I introduced myself.

"Aya. Aya Fey." I said, calmly.

"Aha. Another Fey. How many do you Feys have?" He chuckled.

Maya gave Phoenix a confused look, as if it wasn't expected for it to be like this.

Mystery man took a bow, grabbed my hand softly and gave it a little peck.

"Miles Edgeworth. Pleased to meet you."

I'll repeat again.

Now, if this were some cheesy old anime, the character would nosebleed.

But this is real life. So I did something any gentlewoman would do.

I smiled softly and bowed my head.

As my head was bowed, I took a quick peek at Maya and Phoenix and may I say, they were shocked.

"I see you're with the idiot and his backup." He said, obviously pointing to me.

I chuckled nervously.

"I'm not an idiot, Edgeworth. Also, don't mess around with my friends sister." Phoenix said, surprisingly calm.

Edgeworth chuckled. "Now who said I was doing that?"

"I did. I...I just did." Phoenix said.

"Well, maybe I just can't help it. She seems like a lovely lady."

Was it because I bowed?

Maya snickered. "Okay, Miles, go on to your own table now, we'll see you Sunday. Or whenever there's a case."

Edgeworth chuckled, gave me one last look, and joined his terrifying sister and father at his table, where they fancily hid their face with the menu and had the utensils perfectly laid out.

Despite the obvious royalty, I was obviously in love with this man.
