"So the answer to your question is yes, I will still reject you." His words were cold as he dropped the hand that I hadn't notice was on my cheek. I felt my heart plummeted realizing the one chance I had at finding my mate was over. I, Evangeline Avery Locke was rejected by my mate.

"Why?" My question came out more as a whispered.

"You don't even know me and you still reject me?" I took a step back in disgust. I shook off the feeling of warmth when he stepped closer.

His scent... Lavender and vanilla.

I mentally rolled my eyes at moon for even daring to bring up his scent.

"I don't have to know you to know your weak." He glared. My blood began to boil but I kept myself under control. This is what he wants. He wants me to lash out.

"I am a lot of things. But I am NOT weak." I spat sending him a nasty glare.

"Prove it."

A smile made its way to my lips. He doesn't know... he doesn't know what I can do. Luckily river had left so he couldn't tell him and I could have the element of surprise.

"If your not weak you can beat my beta in a fight." He offered.

"To the death?" River popped his head out from inside.

"Because that would certainty make things more interesting." River offered before disappearing back inside.

"My beta wouldn't kill a innocent girl... however I do have a rogue on hand that would..." I smirked at his offer. One rogue is easy.

"Bring it on." I smirked.

(⚠️You can skip past this part if you want⚠️)

"You sure about this?" River asked from the side lines.

"I'm sure. I'm Evangeline Avery Locke, I can do anything." I smiled.

"Evangeline?" He raised a brow. I shrugged walking to the center of the 'arena'. Xavier had made us fight in a boxing cage sort of thing. I prepared my wolf as I looked at the red haired boy they brought out. I felt bad that he'd have to die, but knowing Xavier he'd probably die anyway.

"Shift in 3..." I took a deep breath readying moon. I was going to give her full control....

"2..." I am not weak. I will win.

"1..." I closed my eyes letting her in.

"Shift!" Hello rogue.

Like a newbie the rogue went for the obvious kill. The neck. I nipped at his ear diving out of the way. Let's play a game...

For each time he goes for the neck, I tear a limb off of him.

He let out a low growl. I did not. He jumped for my neck again, and missed.

That's 1.

That's 2.

That's 3.

That's 4.

I let out a bloodthirsty growl ready for my attack. He went for my neck for the fifth time, only this time I dove for his back leg pulling him towards me. He whimpered in pain when I took my fangs ripping his right back left off holding it in my mouth. I growled walking towards his other back leg.

A bloody howl came from the pup I had pulled apart. Deciding id made my point I made my way to his head letting him look me in the eyes and see his killer.

Fear.

I let out an unexpectedly demonic growl ready to snap his neck.

Death. Such a painful thing indeed.

⚠️ok your good now :)⚠️

I snapped back into my own mind letting the memories of what moon had done flood my mind. I spared a glance to Xavier seeing his expression of pure shock. I felt unsatisfied with what happened.

Fight him.

The thought of what would happen if I fought him washed over me. I let out a growl telling Xavier and anyone else here to turn around so I could change.

"I hope I've made my point Xavier." I purred with a hint of sass to tick him off. He didn't respond. Perfect.

"River, could you take me home now? I'm tired of looking at him." I glared at Xavier one last time before following river to his car.

"Your going to reject him aren't you?" He looked genuinely concerned as he drove onto the road.

"I don't know what I want..." I answered truthfully. He made his decision but what was mine?

"I think you should give him a chance." River suggested earning an eye roll from me. Of course that's what he wants.

"I still can't believe they way you killed that rogue... after all your kind of a rogue yourself, since your pack was slaughtered." He added.

"I did not kill anyone." I corrected.

"Right I forgot, it was your alter ego wolf that killed him." He joked.

I'll kill him too if he doesn't shut up. I laughed at moons comment. She's still new to the whole 'not being poisoned' thing. It felt weird having almost all of my strength back. I plan on adjusting to this side of me instead of holding it back, clearly it doesn't end well when I do.

And if you take the wolfsbane you won't get to hear me anymore. She reminded me.... that part wouldn't be bad.

Hey!

"You ok Avery? We've been sitting in your driveway for 7 minutes?" River pointed out. I quickly exited the car thanking him for driving me. It had gotten pretty dark out so I figure Gray is asleep. I made my way into the house trying my best to be quite.

"Ow!" I screeched as my hip slammed into the corner of a nearby table. The lamp flipped on averting my attention to my brother who was sitting on the rocking chair.

"Sit." He motioned to the couch in front of him. I hesitantly walked over to the couch taking a seat.

"Your curfew is at 11pm. It's..." he paused checking his phone.

"11:45. Care to explain yourself?" He asked I a serious tone. I mentally panicked thinking of an excuse.

'Oh yea sorry I went out and killed a random guy to prove a point. I'll try to be more punctual next time.' That wouldn't go over well...

"Your grounded." He stood up putting his hand out for my phone.

"What?! That's not fair!" I complained. He sent me a subtle glare still holding out his hand.
I sighed reaching for my phone.

"Uh slight problem..." I smiled nervously. He raised a brow waiting for me to explain.

"I must've dropped it at Xavier's..."
