(Two weeks ago)
Kiera has been blabbing on about her old friend moving here for the past 3 hours. Kiera was always on top of gossip or anything that might benefit me. Although I'm not sure what her childhood best friend has anything to do with me.
"No offense Kiera, but I couldn't care less about your little friend." I stopped her earning a cold glare from Kai, her mate.
"Did you not listen to a thing I said? If she see's how much power you and Xavier have over Kentwood, she'll try to take it from you." She warned. I rolled my eye unamused at her attempts to scare me. If she try's anything Xavier will snap her neck.
"I'm serious! And I can't promise that I won't try and stop her... she's different." Kiera's voice was laced with fear, fear of uncertainty.
"Different? I'm a werewolf for god sake! And your boyfriend is a werewolf too. I think the word different applies to all of us." I reminded her. Kiera met Kai two years ago and they marked each other only a few months ago, mostly because Kiera is human and they wanted to wait.
"What ever River, Don't say I didn't warn you."

(Present day)
Kiera was right about Avery. She is different, but not in the way I am. Avery told me about her parents and why she was on wolfsbane but the pieces weren't fitting together. She was forced to shift at 8 years old, 4 years early, and hadn't shifted since. I would've believed her but her brother told me that it was her dad that made her shift and her dad that gave her the wolfsbane... so why would he want her to shift and but at the same time not?
And then there was the fact that he's in jail, so why would she continue to take the pills... and why did Grayson say they were looking for a solution to their problem?
'I need a background check on anyone with the last name Locke' I linked Kai, who was our tracker on the field and our best hacker.
'On it' he linked back. Not even 10 minutes later Kai had brought back everything about the Locke family.
"This is all there was..." he handed me a small file with the name 'locke' written across it. I opened the small file looking at the contents in confusion.
"The only thing in here is a job resume from Grayson Locke ..." I paused noticing another paper.
"Avery's school records." I examined the transcript.

Former school: Redport High
The rest of the paper was scratched out and unreadable. Why was her birthday not on there?
"I did a quick search and redport High is a boarding school in Europa that closed down a few years ago." Kai mentioned.
"This is it? No birth certificate? Drivers license?" I asked shutting the file. He shook his head.
"Nothing. The name Evangeline Avery Locke doesn't exist..." he answered. That doesn't make sense? How could she exist but not exist.
