*warning short chapter*

~ Avery king ~

Everything I've ever fought for fell apart in a matter of days. I fought for my strength. Gone. I fought for my packs safety. Gone. I fought for my brother. Gone.

"Your daughter isn't in danger... your niece is." The words slipped out like poison. My eyes fell onto Caitlyn who had gone pale.

A girl... she's having a girl.

"The first born female wolf of the packs is not your heir, it's theirs." Zane smirked.

"Why... why would you do this." My voice was strained as I kept my eyes on my sister-in-law.

"Because darling..." Zane's smirk fell. "I needed to buy myself some time."

That's when all hell broke loose. The windows shatter as people began screaming. Vampires flooding in the room killing everyone in sight. Xavier let out a demonic growl before passing rose to me and shifting. The wolves shifted and tried to fight back.

"What the hell zane?! WE HAD A DEAL!" I growled cradling the now crying baby.

"Do you not understand?! If anyone finds out about that child they will come after her and wipe out your entire pack!" He hissed. I gave him a crazed look.

"Is that not what you're doing? Look around! YOU'RE THE ONLY MONSTER HERE!" I growled.

Through the chaos I noticed people trying to get the doors open... they wouldn't. I also noticed the children were no where to be seen. And neither was Caitlyn.

"WHERE IS MY SISTER?!" I growled out expecting the ground to shake or Zane to go flying back. Nothing happened.

"No powers? Like I said, the wolfsbane did a lot of damage." Zane kept a wicked grin. I tried. I really tried to hold it together...

But the sound of my mates bones being snapped pushed me past my limits.

One of the few people not shifted took rose and gave me a promising look.

"I don't need magic to rip your throat out." I growled letting my eyes turn the purple color I've grown used to in my wolf form.

"I don't think I've had the pleasure of meeting your wolf." Zane kept his smirk like he was playing a game. Two can play that game.

"You'll wish I gave her control... I'm meaner."

I jumped and shifted in the air. On my way down I tackled Zane and pinned him to the ground. After the shock washed away he chanted a few words sending me flying back onto one of the locked doors. I grunted in pain but stood up and took my stance. My goal was not Zane. I jumped past him and towards the red headed boy who had a death grip on river. The bloodthirsty growl I let out nearly shook the ground. Without giving him time to react I jumped and sank my teeth into his neck snapping it on the way down. He wasn't dead... yet. I spotted Xavier limping towards river as they both watched closely. Zane was watching too. Perfect. I kept my eyes on Zane's as I put both paws on the boys shoulders. The dangerous look that was no doubtably painted on my face sent chills down his spine. Slowly I bit into his neck watching as Zane's death glare deepened. I released it to see the relieved look... but only for a second. Without hesitation I tore his head from his body.

Dead.

Everyone stopped as I realized they had all been watching. Zane looked furious and it was only now I had noticed that no one else was dead, only knocked out or badly injured. I shifted back into my human form, covered in blood.

"Oops."
