|Time skips some years later|

You slowly open your eyes, hearing your wife's heartbeat.
You kiss her forehead before laying your head on her chest again.
"Baby girl", she whispers.
"Hi, love", you whispers too.
She smiles, "You hear that?".
"What?", you ask with confusion.
"This silence", she says and you giggle.
"They are both asleep.. maybe for the first time ever", Sarah says hugging you tight.
"Then let's not wake them up", you whisper kissing her.
Sarah giggles, as you get on top of her.
Suddenly, you both hear someone crying from the other room.
"Moms!".
You sigh, "Too late", you say kissing Sarah's nose and she giggles.
"I'm taking Delia, go to Lana", you say as you both get up.
Delia is your first child, Sarah got pregnant first, and she is four years old.
You enter in Delia's room, "Good morning baby".
"Mom!", she screams jumping in your embrace, "Lana is crying and she woke me up", she says clearly upset.
You laugh, "Delia, she is young. You know you were just like her some years ago?", you try to explain.
"Was I?", she asks raising her brown.
She is totally like Sarah, you think to yourself and you smile.
"Yeah, you were. You couldn't stop crying, day and night", you say as you tingle her.
She laughs hard, "I'm hungry".
"Go wash your hands, then we will make breakfast okay?", you say and she gives you a big kiss.
You smile and go in Lana's room. Lana is the youngest of the two, she is only three months, and this time you decided to carry the baby.
As you enter, you see Sarah lulling her.
"Shhh, it's okay baby. I'm here", she says.
Sarah smiles looking at you,
"Is she okay?", you ask.
"She is.. maybe she is just hungry".
"Let me feed her", you say and Sarah kisses her little face before giving her into your embrace.
She kisses your forehead, "I'm going to prepare breakfast".
"Okay, Delia is already in the kitchen".
As Sarah enters in the kitchen, Delia smiles big.
"Mommy!!", she says running to her.
Sarah laughs, picking her up, "Good morning little princess, did you sleep well?".
"I did mom", she says resting her head on the crack of Sarah's neck.
Sarah giggles even more, "Let's make breakfast for mom shall we?", she says and Delia nods.
"Sarah!", you call from Lana's room.
"I'm coming love!", she says before turning to Delia, "Keep setting the table, I'll right back".
Sarah enters the room, Lana is crying and so are you.
"Baby, what's wrong? Is she hurt?", she asks worried.
"I don't know.. She doesn't stop crying.. I can't calm her down", you say panicked.
"Shh, hand her to me", she says.
As soon as she is in Sarah's embrace, she stops crying.
"There you are", Sarah whispers to her, laying her in her little bed.
You look at Sarah crying,
"Oh, baby-", Sarah says but you run in the bathroom and lock the door.
"Y/N!", Sarah says running after you.
"Y/N open the door please", Sarah asks.
"No!", you scream crying, "I won't never be a good mom!", you say.
"What are you talking about?", she asks worried.
"Please, love", Sarah sighs.
You slowly open the door and she hugs you.
"It's okay baby, I'm here".
"I just.. don't feel good enough. Look at you Sarah, you are a wonderful mom!".
"You are too", Sarah seriously says.
"No..no, I'm not", you say looking down.
"Hey", Sarah says caressing your chin, "I didn't raise Delia alone".
"But look at you and Delia.. you have a strong connection.. I hoped I had it too with Lana but.. she prefers you to me", you say.
"That's not true baby, they love us equally, we are both their's mothers, as well as we love them equally, don't we?", she sweetly says.
You nod, "B-but why I can't calm her down? As soon as you pick her up she calms down! You succeeded with Delia and now you are succeeding also with Lana, I'm just failing", you say.
"Baby, I had hard times too, don't you remember? When you were holding Delia because I was sick? Or too tired?".
You smile, "I used to hold her all night".
"Exactly, and she slept peacefully in your embrace", Sarah says caressing your cheek.
"And remember who Delia called first every night when she used to have nightmares?", she asks again.
"Me..", you say.
"See? That girl is crazy about you. And so will Lana", she says before kissing you.
"Mommy? Is moma okay?", Delia sweetly asks to Sarah.
You pull away from each other's,
"Yes love, I am, come here", you say hugging her.
"I love you", you say to her.
"I love you too mom".
Sarah winks at you smiling.
As you all walk in the kitchen, Lana starts crying again.
"Sarah can you-", you say but she stops you.
"Go", she softly whispers smiling.
You run to her,
"Don't cry, hey.. your mom is here", you say taking her into your embrace.
You whisper sweet things to her while lulling her, after some minutes she stops crying and you smile.
"See? Not that difficult", Sarah says entering in the room and giving you a big kiss.
"I couldn't have done it without you", you say resting your forehead on hers.
Sarah gently wraps an arm around you and the other one around Lana.
"I couldn't have done all of this without you too", she says.
"Moms! I'm hungry!", Delia screams and you both laugh.
"I love you Sarah", you say.
"I love you too baby girl".
As you are eating your breakfast, the bell rings.
"I got it", Sarah says because you are feeding Lana.
Sarah opens the door, "Hi girlssss!", you hear.
"Cate!", Sarah says hugging her.
"Where is y/n?".
"She is feeding Lana".
"Aunt Cate!", Delia says hugging her and you all laugh.
"Hi baby, I bought you a gift", Cate says handing to Delia a doll.
"Thank you", she says smiling big and running in her room.
"How are you honey?", Cate asks sitting next to you, Sarah sits next to Cate.
"I'm.. fine", you try to smile, "She is asleep, I'm taking her in her room", you say getting up.
As you are gone, Cate and Sarah talk.
"What's wrong with her?", Cate asks.
Sarah sighs, "She thinks she is not a good mother".
"Oh..", Cate says looking down.
"The thing is.. I felt like that too, I still do sometimes , I think it's.. normal?", Cate nods in agreement, "But she is so stressed, almost sad.. I miss her", Sarah says, "Sometimes I think that she is so young, maybe this is too much for her".
Cate takes Sarah's hands, "Hey, don't think that. It's not your fault, all the decisions you two have made, you made them together".
"Finally, she is sleeping", you say sitting down on the table.
Cate smiles, "Why you two don't go out tonight?".
"What?", you both say.
"Oh c'mon! It's been a decade since you two were alone and had fun!", Cate says and it's true. Since you had Delia you barely went out, but when you had Lana too you never spent a second alone.
"I don't know Cate.. what about the babies?", you say worried.
"I'll take care of them! My husband and the children are away for the weekend", she says.
"What do you say baby girl?", Sarah says smiling.
"If you are okay with this, I'm okay too", you say and Sarah squeezes your hand.
"I miss you", she whispers.
You smile, "I miss you too.. thank you Cate".
Later in the afternoon, you start to get ready. You look in your wardrobe for something to wear, you haven't wore your dresses for ages.
You put on a red cocktail dress and look at yourself in the mirror, with the pregnancy your body changed a bit.
"You look wonderful", Sarah says hugging you from behind.
You smile, "So do you", you say kissing her.
"Moms?", you hear Delia entering in the room, she looks sad.
"What's wrong baby?", you ask worried.
"Why can't I come with you?", she asks.
You kneel down, "Because your mommies need some time alone".
"But why?", she asks raising her brown.
Sarah kneels down too, "You will understand one day.. when people love each other's they need to spend time together", Sarah explains.
"To cuddle?", Delia asks excited.
You both laugh, "Yes, also to cuddle".
"C'mon, aunt Cate is going to be here soon", you say.
As you get up Delia hugs you both, "You look like two princesses".
"Aw baby", Sarah says.
Minutes later, Cate arrives and it's time for you to go out.
You check on Lana one last time,
"Be a good girl with aunt Cate, I'll be home soon princess", you whisper to her.
Sarah sweetly looks at you, "Love, it's time to go. Don't worry for her, she will be fine".
"I know but.. it's the first time I leave her since she was born", you say as Lana takes your finger.
"You have to get used to it", she says taking your hand, "Ready?".
You nod and leave the room.
"Cate, if something happens call us immediately.. I've just feed Lana so she should be fine, Delia has her toys and her meal is in the fridge-"
"Y/N, calm down", Sarah saya, "Cate has children too and she knows very well our babies", Sarah laughs.
"And you were worried about not being a good mom?", Cate says and you smile, "Now go. Good bye love birds".
Sarah takes you out for dinner,
"It's so good to be finally together", you say lacing your fingers with hers.
"This is all I've ever dreamt about", Sarah says.
"I love you so much Sarah, it never changed", you say.
"I know baby, our children are amazing but.. you still are the best thing that ever happened to me".
"To us then", you say taking your glass of wine.
"To us. And, to our family", Sarah says smiling.
