The couple sat on the sofa. He was watching TV and she was reading a book. She looked at her husband.
"I miss her you know."
"I do too.", he said, tears in his eyes.
He usually was this strong, stonecold guy but this topic brought him to tears. And she knew it. They had talked about it often enough in the past.
"Do you think she's fine wherever she is?"
"I hope so. I really do. But I'm not sure. I don't even have an idea where she is. All I know it's been too long since we last saw her. Way too long."
"I know my love. But we'll see her. One day. We'll find her and then everything will be fine ok?"
She stood up and sat next to him. He took her on his lap and kissed her on the lips.
"Yes everything will be fine. I love you"
"I love you too."
