ASHTON's point of view

I watch Loise exit the dining room looking like a broken piece of a china doll. Sitting here I am overcome by a sudden urge to go after her but I decided to stay where I was. It's my brother's job to go after her. Nonetheless, he didn't instead he kept his gaze locked on his food. His jaw is clenched but I can see regret flash on his face.
I don't understand why he didn't tell her that Audrey is staying here. He looks upset about something but chooses not to say anything.

What is wrong with these two? I think while furrowing my eyebrows in confusion. I need to talk to my brother alone and ask what's wrong. There's obviously something going on.

"I think Marloe is upset. Why didn't you tell her I'm coming, babe?" Audrey asks my brother in her high-pitched annoying voice. He looks up from his food looking confused.

I chuckle. He has heard nothing, obviously, his mind is elsewhere. And why is he letting Audrey call him babe all the time? Isn't he annoyed? He has a freaking girlfriend for fucks sake.

"What?" he asks. Audrey let out an annoying giggle. What is wrong with this girl, what in the world did she find funny? She gets onto my nerves without even trying.

"I said why didn't you tell Marloe about me staying here until graduation?" She repeats.

"Oh...I didn't think it would matter." Clace mutters shrugging nonchalantly. I huff rolling my eyes at his stupidity.

"You know they fight all the time you should have at least given her a heads up," I say trying to hide my annoyance.

"I just forgot okay? It was not that big of a deal, besides I was looking for her all day and calling her but she wasn't even answering her phone!" Clark mutters sounding upset.

"Why? Did you get into a fight again?" my mom asks worriedly.

"She's been acting really weird for the past two days mom, I don't know what I did all I know is that she's avoiding me! And frankly, I hate it! She didn't even tell me that our friends are back and instead of me she took Haley with her!" He grumbles letting out a defeated sigh.

I frown, that's quite unlikely of Loise.

"Haley? You know something?" My mom asks looking at Haley expectantly.

"What? I know nothing. She just texted me asking me to come with her that's all." Haley replies rather quickly.

"Did you ask her why she didn't take me?" Clark asks. Haley bit her lip nervously. Uh oh, what is wrong with Loise?

"Uh..." Haley hesitated.

"Come on Hale you know something." Clark insists.

"Well, she said you're with your teammates" Hayley mumbles.

"What? Did she say that? See. She lied, she's obviously avoiding me," Clark says while holding his hands up in the air in frustration.

"You obviously did something, dear brother. Why don't you find out about it and go after her?" I say rather encouragingly. Clark looks like he is thinking about it. For all, I know these two never fight and when they do they make up easily. Whatever it is that's going on right now needs to be sorted out. It's obviously hurting them both.
