Bendy's POV

Charlie wasn't here when I woke up. I sat on the top bunk for a while, contemplating on whether or not I should go look around the house. I finally decided to leave the room when I got bored.

James was at the dining table, on one of those computers and drinking, what smelled like, coffee. He noticed me out the corner of his eye and cracked a smile.

"G'morning, Bendy," he said kindly, "don't be shy, c'mon, sit down."

He gestured to the empty chair across from him. I shyly went over to sit.

   "You sleep alright?" James asked.

   "Ah, y-yeah, just fine."

"Hungry?" he pushed forward a small plate full of funny shaped biscuits. "Charlie told me you had a love for sweets. These are croissants, have you had them before?"

"Um... oh yeah! A friend gave me one once a really long time ago..." I almost frowned.

   "Go ahead, eat up."

James was being really nice... I didn't think he'd adjust to me so quickly. I took a croissant from the plate and bit into it. Memories came rushing back and I couldn't help but smile. I heard James chuckle from across from me.

"What is it?" I asked.

"Oh nothing. I gotta say, you're really cute!"

My whole face went red. I'm still not quite used to being called cute again.

"You know, you're nothing like the characters I work with at Disney. They're all made out of paint. I would've never thought to use ink! Charlie says you melt every now and then, your creators gave you some sort of bone structure didn't they?"

"Ahhh..."

James is nice, but very overwhelming.

"I honestly don't remember a lot. They used to mess with my memories all the time,"

   "Mhmm,"

"So, where is Charlie?"

"He has a few classes today. His friends picked him up,"

"Doesn't it bother ya a lil' that your boy spends so much time 'round adults? He acts so grown up is what I'm sayin'..."

"It can't be helped much," James took a sip from his coffee, "Charlie was always so ahead of other kids in kindergarten and first grade. He was writing in cursive at two and doing calculus by four! Erica and I kept telling him to slow down, but he was just so persistent on reaching high goals.

"Honestly, I wasn't all for him going to college considering what people in this town are like. Erica said it'd be a great opportunity for him but I think she just wanted bragging rights at parties."

James started laughing and I couldn't help but laugh too. It was funny to imagine tiny Charlie still in diapers but working at a desk along adults. Just then, I heard someone cry out along with multiple thuds. James sighed and leaned on his hand.

"Walter, if you're still hungover you better get your ass back upstairs!" he cried.

   "Dad, fuck off!"

Charlie's brother came stumbling into the kitchen, half dressed, hair in his face, and not even giving me a second glance. James frowned and hummed angrily.

"You skipping out for a few days is one thing, but I'm not putting up with your addictions, young man!"

"Where's breakfast, why didn't mom make breakfast?" Wally ignored him completely.
