A bright light appeared next to me and just as the wolves reached me a hand came from the light and dragged me into it.  I felt hands pulling out from Earth and into a whole other universe, while I knew whatever the hell was going on was saving my life… but I also knew it scared the crap out of me.

I mean, getting dragged into a white light isn’t exactly a good sign, I was probably going crazy. Imagining up a hero, then imagining up my own world.

You know I was probably dead, and this was the after- life.

I suddenly found it hard to breathe; my heart felt like a ton of metal was constantly pushing it down, out of my body.

I looked around me to what I had just been dragged into.

It was a wood, nearly identical to the one I had just been in… but this one was light and had people flying around the tree tops. It looked like a scene from a fairy-tale.

Wait, what?

Flying?

I gasped as I realised they all had… wings.

“That was close!” A girl about my age giggled. I turned to face her. She was sitting next to me, laughing like she’d just gotten of a roller-coaster.  She had just saved my life, whilst dragging me into some sort of bright portal that leads to some sort of fantasy land.

“Thanks.” I said, barely audible through my deep breathing. I didn’t know why I wasn’t freaked out yet, exactly the same way I wasn’t freaked out by Leo.

The adrenaline was still pumping through my veins, making me even more edgy. She grinned and held out her hand again. Unsure of where I was and glad to have someone that was completely here with me I took it.

I was taken by shock as wings appeared from her back and she launched us up into the air. She glanced cautiously over at me to see if I was ok and I let out a laugh of complete amazement. She grinned, relieved that I hadn’t freaked out.

“You don’t seem scared… or freaked out…” She frowned, like I was meant to be.

I couldn’t shrug as she dragged me through the air so I had to say something. “It doesn’t seem too scary, I always knew a place like this existed, but I never knew it existed outside of my dreams.” I sighed. I hadn’t meant to say all of that. Her eyes were filled with awe as she lowered us down onto the steps of what looked like a palace.

As she put her wings away I got a good glance at them. They were a beautiful clean white colour, plain but they looked heavenly and they looked pretty big. She led me into the castle in front of us and nodded to all of the men standing at the sides of the walls, waiting for something to happen.

I was defiantly dreaming… or dead. Whatever, this could not be real.

This was like some movie you’d watch at a cinema and dream about being the main character for ages.

“Eliyn!” The girl shouted through the marble hallways. The palace was covered in the most glamorous antiques and pictures.  Her voice bounced off the walls and sprung upon us again and again in the most enchanting way.

It seemed like I was in wonderland, I was dreaming for sure.

It was definite, the wolves had knocked me out and I was dreaming. But that didn’t stop me from having fun here did it?

“Miranda, I told you to stop picking humans up from the woods, you’ll leave them scarred for life and they’ll go mental!” A woman dressed in a lavish gold and white gown emerged from a door to the right of us and walked elegantly towards me. She had her wings out and they were huge. They were glowing gold and lit up the room, even though the room was already too bright.

“Eliyn, this is Vi.” The girl, I assumed was called Miranda, smiled, almost proud. Vi? I wasn’t Vi, I was Anna. It looked like Miranda had made a very big mistake on who I was.

The gracious woman, Eliyn, gasped and covered her open mouth with her dainty hands. Her regal gold eyes softened and she stepped, lovingly, closer to me.

As soon as she got within a metre of me it was like she realised what she was doing.

“Miranda!” She snapped, her eyes hardening and she went back into royal mode, “She’s not ready! I’ve already told you!” Her shout echoed across the marble hallway and everyone currently walking in it coward in fear. Everyone but Miranda.

“She was about to be ripped apart by wolves!” She replied defensively, “And Leo was edging closer; He could’ve gotten to her before us.” She said matter-of-factly. Leo! That was my hero! The glowingly elegant woman pursed her lips and I realised how pretty everyone was here. But Eliyn was almost shockingly beautiful, her face was sharp but soft… her eyes were a shade of yellow that looked gold and her nose was small, a perfect shape and her lips were a very bright ruby red that were thin, but they made her look even more elegant.

“Take her back, only I say when she is to return home.” She said flatly and turned to walk away. Home?

“But-”

“That is an order, Miranda.” She raised her voice and it was clear what the final decision was. Eliyn disappeared into a doorway and Miranda turned to face me.

“Sorry, I guess you’ll have to go back…” She sighed and led me back through the regal castle.

“Who’s Vi?” I asked, curiously. Miranda frowned, pondering on whether to tell me or not.

“You’ll soon see,” She smiled, her eyes suddenly had a tint of sadness in them and her voice became softer and less bubbly than before, “You’ll come back in time and then I can tell you everything.”

I nodded, not sure of what to make of that. I’d be back? Why?

We lifted off the ground outside the castle and the flight back didn’t seem as amazing as the journey there. My mind was now clouded with questions. And I craved to know the answers.

As we landed back on the ground of the forest I was reluctant to go home. This place was so beautiful, so bright and happy…

The big bight portal thing appeared in front of my face. Miranda ushered me to walk back into it.

“Good bye, I’ll see you soon!” She grinned, pushing me encouragingly on the back. Just before I fell she warned me to beware of Leo. Giving way and falling into the portal everything went too bright and I had to close my eyes to save my eyes from burning.

“Anna!” Tristan’s voice awoke me from a sleep I hadn’t known I’d been in. So I had been dreaming about the land with people with wings. I looked around me, I was lying on the floor of the forest but Tristan was nowhere to be seen. “Anna!” I heard his faint call and knew he was looking for me. How long had I been gone? I mean out…

“Anna, stop being a child and stop hiding!” My father boomed. But his call was also faint and far away, there was no way I’d be able to shout that far. I looked around again, I was exactly where I had been when I had seen the wolves. I hadn’t moved, just fell to the floor.

I lay my head back onto the ground and hoped the wolves hadn’t ripped me apart too much.

Actually, I didn’t hurt at all.

Maybe it did really happen; maybe I did really go to wonderland! I sounded like some hopeful, but slightly mental child who convinced herself that she saw a monster under her bed.

A pair of feet came running towards me and I shut my eyes, trying to convince them I was asleep.

“She’s here!” Tristan’s father shouted, to alert the others looking for me.  He knelt down, placing my head in his hands, “Oh Anna, you’ve been to Myllic, haven’t you?” He sighed. The word Myllic rang a bell in my mind. It was what had been written on the castle doors. How would Tristan’s dad know about the place I went to?

But then again, I was never really sure what job he had so he could be some paranormal expert on other lands.

But I was so sure last night was a dream, but I was also so sure it wasn’t…

I was defiantly gone insane.
