Chapter 31

Bru's Pov

  "North," I called sternly.

  School was over. I stood in front of North, blocking his way.

  "What do you want?" he asked, sighing.

  "To talk," I replied simply.

  "About...?" North raised a brow.

  "Not telling you now," I said and dragged him back to our seats.

  "So what is it?" North grumbled irritably.

"Straight to the point. What's up with you and your crush," I asked.

"My crush?" North looked at me in surprise, "I don't have one."

"Don't lie," I pressed, "Singa. Why have you been distant?"

"You spoke with her, didn't you? She hates me," North growled.

"I did speak with her and she doesn't hate you," I replied, trying to stay calm, "where'd you get that idea from anyway?"

North remained silent for a while before making eye contact.

"You don't know that rumour that I've been told about?"

"Look if that rumour is about Singa hating you, then that's a lie!" I reply quickly, "don't you see? If Singa did dislike you, she'd stay away from you or maybe tell you to get lost and maybe she and I might be a thing by now."

I stood up after a while when North didn't reply. I dragged him to a large space which we had underneath the classroom block. I knew Singa always spent her time there at the side after school, I'd even join her sometimes.

She was studying when we reached there. We were mostly "hiding" in between the pillars.

"Okay, I want you to go talk to her," I began, pointing at Singa who was across the place.

North shook his head quickly, "I don't want to..."

I stared at him, how could he not want to?

"I'll be here on Friday," He said, walking away.

"At least be nicer and friendlier," I pleaded, "promise?"

North stopped in his tracks and turned around to look at me for a while in silence as I waited for his answer.

"Will do."
