Spring was hands down my favorite season.

I loved the fact that the weather was getting better and that we were slowly getting rid of the awfully low temperatures, making my morning runs even more enjoyable. What I also loved was the fact that April was around the corner, meaning that Ashley and I had barely three other more months of sneaking around.

Well, we obviously couldn't come out as a couple right after graduation, cause that would be stupid.. but hey, I could see the finish line, and I couldn't fucking wait.

"Miss García, you're-"

"Yeah yeah, sorry I'm late.", I cut Mr. Sanchez off as I slowly approached my desk. "I didn't want to come."

"Ten points for your honesty.", I heard him mumble under his breath before going back to writing on the board, surprisingly letting me off the hook without further ado.

"Did someone piss in your cereal?", Jess questioned in a low voice as I sat next to her, an amused yet confused look on her face.

"I'm on my period.", I huffed, not even bothering to take my books out from my bag. "And when I'm on my period it seems like God makes it his personal mission to fuck with me in the most creative ways."

"What happened?"

"Oh well, let's see.. I got zero sleep last night for whatever reason; Sparky chewed my new favorite shoes, again; Chase threw a tantrum because I wouldn't allow him to go to school in his pjs, making me late for my first period so Mr, Bomb-fucking-ay gave me detention; oh and yeah, I was slightly rushing to school when I cut off a car just to flip whoever was honking at me like a maniac off, resulting in me getting pulled over and a goddamn ticket because the car turned out to be a police car. Am I forgetting something?", I breathed out, unconsciously counting the events that made my morning a nightmare on the tip of my fingers.

"Jeez, I hope you're not.", Jess chuckled, earning a menacing glare from our Spanish teacher which she easily brushed off.

We all knew Mr.Sanchez had a weak spot for her, and not at all in a creepy way. She was just really good at his subject, in fact she would ace every single test.

"I swear, this day cannot get any worse."

"I wouldn't speak so soon babe, the day is still young.", Jess teased, a devious grin plastered on her lips.

"Why does my bad luck amuses you so much?"

"Cause it's entertaining.", she shrugged, causing me to roll my eyes at her.

I was about to bite back but our teacher was repeatedly glaring at us, well me, forcing me to shut the hell up and actually pay attention to whatever he was saying. It wasn't long though before I rested my head on the desk and fell asleep, clearly not having any interest in listening to his boring lessons. I already had detention for today anyway, so fuck that.

I was awaken by the bell, finally dismissing us to our lunch period. I released a loud yawn as I stood up from my seat and lazily rubbed my eyes, just to reopen them and being greeted by my teacher's admonishing glare.

"Would you like me to bring you a pillow and a blanket for tomorrow?", he sarcastically asked as Jess and I were on our way out.

"Oh, that would be so kind of you Mr. Sanchez.", I smirked, Jess nudging me in the ribs at my statement. "What? That's like the definition of kind, don't you think?"

"Just get out, García.", he shook his head at me, gesturing for the door.

Making our way into the crowded hallway, we slowly reached the cafeteria and stood in line to get our food as Jess and I lost ourselves in small talk. Once we grabbed our food, we made our way to our usual table where Tyler and Jason were already waiting for us. After Tyler and Jess's fallout, we haven't sat with them at lunch for a while, but that changed a week or so ago when we found them sitting at our table one day. I wasn't entirely sure if I missed something or whatsoever, but I didn't question them about it and I had no intention to do so. Whatever was going on between the two former lovebirds was none of my business, and I was happy the group was back together.
