The entire day I tried to search for Damon but couldn't find him anywhere and I was getting really worried. The look on his face was one of hurt and I just couldn't get it out of my head.

When school finally ended I hurried to the parking lot in hopes of finding him there. Pushing against the swarm of staring people in the hallway I made my way to the parking lot. The staring continued and I inwardly groaned. The entire day people had been staring at me wherever I went.

When I went to the washroom a girl I recognised as one I had algebra with stopped in her tracks and gasped like I had grown a pair of horns or something and then asked me "You are dating Sean Prescott?"

I nodded in reply and her eyes started to examine me - my hair, my face, my dress- with such ferocity that I got really uncomfortable under her stare. I quickly got out of there.

I was getting the same look from every girl in school and the guys were just being morons.

Once out in the parking lot I searched for Damon's car and breathed out in relief when I spotted the black Volvo V70.

"Thank God! He is still in school." I murmured to myself while walking towards his car. I stood next to it for what felt like an eternity when Josh Kavanaugh, Damon's friend from the swim team, started walking towards me. Josh was one of the few guys that I liked a lot. He was always kidding around, cracking jokes and playing pranks. His grey eyes always held mischief in them and I learned soon enough that with Josh it was always good to keep a little distance.

"Hey!" He smiled coming to a stop in front of me. His brown hair was ruffled like he ran his hand through it many times and he wore dark jeans and a grey t-shirt which showed his well defined muscles pretty well. He was a good looking guy in all and he didn't stare at me like the others which gave him brownie points in my opinion.

"Hi." I smiled back in reply.

"You waiting here for Damon?" He inquired.

"Yeah. Have you seen him?"

Josh looked a little uncomfortable and replied, "Well. He has practice and he has asked me to drop off his car at his place. If you want I can drop you to your house."

"Oh. No. No. I just wanted to meet him. That's all. It's no problem. I have a ride."  I smiled at him trying to keep my dejected and hurt look to myself.

"You sure?" He pressed.

"Yeah. Don't worry." I was just about to turn away when his hand caught mine and he said, "I know you like Sean a lot and Damon seems pretty upset about it but don't worry he'll come around. Just give him some time. Please. Don't give up on him." His grey eyes bored into mine with so much intensity that I had to look away.

"Um. Yeah. Sure. I gotta go. Bye." I turned and started walking away.

I knew that Damon had asked Josh to take the car because he had seen me in the parking lot. He was avoiding me. As much as it hurt, I understood him too. I just wished things were a little different. I wasn't going to give up on him. He was my best friend. No! He is my best friend.

I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't see the car come to a stop right in front of me till the driver blared the horn, scaring the hell out of me. I jumped back when I saw how close to me the car was. Then I saw Sean inside through the windshield, glaring at me. What did I do?

I walked to his merc and got in.

"What are you still doing here? Stalking me?" I had told Sean that I was going home with Reese and he should go without me but looks like he didn't listen to me and it was a good thing too since I didn't have a ride but I wasn't going to let him know that.
