Todoroki spat out blood and when the black liquid retracted, Todoroki fell back. Michiyo supported him and tried to support him.
"Shouto! Shouto..." Blood was seeping out slowly, staining Michiyo's dress. Michiyo looked at the stain and she started to panic because she doesn't have a single healing ability at her hands. She doesn't know what to do even as the monster started to reform and retake its original shape.
"You stubborn...girl..." The monster started to speak. "If you don't die...it will...break...promise. Must...fulfill...promise..."
Michiyo panicked and she tried to take Todoroki with her. She used her Quirk to cover herself with diamonds and tried to take Todoroki with her. However, the monster shot out black liquid at her and it pierced through her diamond defense in the leg. When she fell forward, she did't cry out in pain. She had to protect Todoroki, the will to wanting to protect him was far too strong that she couldn't feel the pain in her leg. She left Todoroki on the ground and she faced the monster with angry tears. She tried to stop the monster by conjuring diamond spikes and trying to trap the monster in her diamond flower, but the monster kept destroying her diamonds like it was glass.
Michiyo ran forward and she tried to take on the monster by covering her arms and legs with diamonds, trying to beat the monster down. However, the monster was just like an unbreakable wall. No matter how much she landed a punch and made a clean kick at the monster, the monster always swipe her away with its arm again and again.
"You...!" Still, she didn't give up. Michiyo raised her left hand and part of her arm disappear to make diamond dust swarm the monster. Even though diamond dusts entered the monster and the monster seemed to be crying bloody tears and having blood drip from the corner of its lips. It's a technique that usually makes a human suffer, but against this monster...it's not working. "Why? Why??? I don't want to die..." She took a couple of steps back, she's now standing next to a fallen Todoroki. "I just wanted to live. I just wanted to be happy, why won't you let me be? Do I really have to die in order for every world to be at peace...?"
Wasn't she supposed to be unbreakable? Wasn't diamond supposed to be the hardest stone in the world? Why did she have a diamond Quirk if she couldn't become unbreakable like one? Her spirit breaking away with the fragility of glass, she fell to her knees because realized she wasn't a diamond at all...she's just a human, a weak one too. She started to cry because she just realized how weak she was; all the training was for nothing and she couldn't change her own fate. Even if Todoroki just told her she had lived past the time she was supposed to die, she felt no confidence that she could live for longer. She felt useless in the very moment. Why couldn't she protect Todoroki? Even though everyone's fighting for her!
"Michiyo..." Todoroki whispered her name and he touched her with his right hand. "Michiyo, run..leave me here and run." Even if he's on the floor face first, he wanted Michiyo to live on and fight for her life even if it meant putting his at risk.
"No." Even so, she didn't want to run.
"Run away."
"No!" Even if she felt like she was powerless and couldn't win in a fight, that did not mean she should give up. She chose not to run away.
"If you don't run away and stay away from that monster, it's going to kill you! You need to leave!" He had brought her many minutes to be alive! He's not going to let that monster kill her!
"I won't let you die in my place! I don't want a world where you are not in it!" She was starting to feel the pain in her leg. Even if it's useless, she will try her very best. She will fight to live for the sake of happiness. She's finally up again. "I will live, so will you!" What was the meaning of fighting anyway? What was the meaning of trying so hard? To win? Was winning all there was for someone to try so hard? No. The true meaning of fighting was to fight without giving up on one's won will, right?
