Virgil's POV

What the frick was I thinking? There is no way this is gonna work! We're gonna die, we're gonna die....

My thoughts were interrupted by a something. Something soft that was blocking our fall.

It worked.

We were lifted into the air by a magic carpet, and, naturally, Logan started steering Aladdin-style.

God, I'm so cliché.

¨So,¨ I joked, ¨Sing a song, you're the Piano Man.¨

Yes, I sang it in the tune to Piano Man. I'm not a Monster.

But Logan looked me in the eyes, dead serious, and smiled slightly.

¨Eyes on the road, Lo.¨ I said. God, I'm awkward.

¨There is no road, we're in the air. And frankly, this is all quite shocking.¨

He turned his head away from me, and suddenly I felt uneasy. Like I was going to fall.

So what did my awkward little brain decide to do?

I wrapped my arms around his waist.

He took a deep breath.

¨I can show you the world,

shining, shimmering, splendid,

Tell me Virgil, now when did you last

relax and ease your mind?¨

I laughed at his made up version of the line.

¨Well you try to improvise when you're still recovering from the shock of being dragged off a cliff!¨ He said. Honestly, it sounded like something Princey would say. He must have realized this too, so he softened his gaze and continued:

¨I can open your eyes,

take you wonder by wonder

Over, sideways, and under

on a magic carpet ride.

A whole new world!

A new fantastic point of view

no one to tell us no

or where to go

or say we're only dreaming..¨

The carpet set us down in a clearing of trees, where a picnic basket lay, every star still visible.

Logan turned to me, ¨Shall we eat?¨

¨Sure, lets. God, this is so cliché!¨

I was joking, obviously.

But if this is what cliché was...being here with Logan... making him smile..

Then I'm pretty okay with cliché...

Timeskip Time people!.............................

Logan's POV

A few hours had passed, and Virgil and I had returned to our respective rooms.

I'll admit, I was pretty exhausted, so within the first few minutes of lying down, I fell asleep.

That was when the dreams started.
