Payal and Khushi sat in silence waiting for their father to tell them about her past which made their mother angry and snap at them whenever they asked her but today they will finally know the truth.

"Khushi, your mother and Garima were born to Dev and Shree Patel. Dev........... "

"Stop." A voice said. Shashi and the girls turned to the source of the voice, only to find out it was Garima. Payal and Khushi gulp put of fear but it changed to confusion when Garima came closer and sat beside Shashi.

"Garima please don't scold them, if you want to be angry ,be angry at me and not them. I was........... "
Shashi tried to defend his daughters knowing how sensitive Garima is about the past. But Garima raised her hand and cut him off.

"Am not angry at you,I should have told them a long time ago but I guess today is the day.............. As your father said earlier, your mother and I were born to Dev and Shree Patel. They had an arranged marriage much to the displeasure of Dev who lost the love of his life because his father vowed to disinherit him if he doesn't marry my mother. So he had no choice than to do it. Knowing his son, my grandfather made my mother the sole heiress to his fortune which will only be given or inherited by her kids whether they are of Dev and mother or not. Few months after their marriage my grandfather died and it was then that the clause of his will was discovered. It angered Dev but he kept quiet, 10 months later Sanaya, your mother was born much to the displeasure of Dev who wanted a son. 4 years after, I was born but maa died shortly after I was born. Dev saw this as an opportunity to snatch his father's fortune which has increased due to maa's hardwork. Mother knew about your father's affairs and gambling habits and so to guarantee he doesn't abuse us, maa made him our guardian until didi reaches the age of 20. After maa was buried he started spending the family wealth on women and gambling and before didi turned 18, Papa had already depleted the entire wealth. He began finding ways to get money but couldn't come up with any idea that was when one of his friends told him to use us to get money by marrying us into rich homes but Sanaya stood her ground. When Sanaya di turned 19,she started behaving weirdly and I later found out she was dating your father Mohit when I once followed her, I confronted them and they told me they were in love. I was so happy especially when Mohit asked me to call him bhai. For six months I helped them see each other, but then that happiness was short lived when bhai was deployed (PS: Khushi's father is a soldier) again and we won't be seeing him until the next six months. It was a painful good bye for them but both kept in touch through letters. But tragedy struck when I came back home and was told that di has been admitted to the hospital. I run to the hospital to find di hitting Papa and calling him a murder. The doctors then sedated her and that was when I found out di was pregnant and had had an abortion on the insistence of Papa. After that incident di became depressed and on top of it bhai stop writing to her. Papa used that to taunt di everytime which worsen her depression. Taking advantage of it Papa arranged Di's marriage with Arvind Malik because he gave him a lot of money. More shocking was that di agreed to it thinking bhai had abandoned her. Five days to the wedding I found out that Papa has been stealing bhai letters and hiding them. And in one of the letters that I read, it state that bhai was hurt by a landmine that's why he couldn't come when it was time to. So i contacted him and told him everything, I also told di who cursed herself for doubting bhai. Knowing that Papa will never agree to their relationship, I help them get married the next day and both eloped. Both tried to convince me to came with them but I declined and made them swear never to look back. I was able to keep Papa away from di for the next 24 hours to the wedding. On the wedding day Papa who was more interested in the money he was going to get did not notice I was missing. He only found out after the wedding was done when Arvind raised the veil only to find out it was me. Papa sacked everyone and only I, Arvind and him were left. He dragged me into the room and started beating me up mercilessly but then Arvind came to my rescue and took me away to his house. For 3 months I avoided Arvind like a plague and never cared about his frequent visits out of town. But all that changed when he one day sat me down and apologized for everything. I then began liking him but became suspicious of his constant trips out of town but being the cunning and manipulative man, he was able to clear my doubt. A year and half after our marriage Arvind had become the man of my dreams and helped me locate di and bhai. At first sight bhai and di never approved of Arvind but i was able to convince them into liking him for my sake and they did. Di and bhai left but visited once in a while. Three years after my marriage to Arvind, you, khushi was born to di and bhai after years of trying. Your parents named you Khushi because you were a miracle child and your birth brought more happiness to them especially when countless doctors claim Di's womb was weak because of her forced abortion. The day I saw you I decided to try harder to get pregnant after 4 miscarriages in the years of being married to Arvind but that was not meant to be, because everytime I got pregnant I end up miscarrying the baby, so the doctors advised me to stop as the continues miscarriages had damaged my womb. Arvind supported me through out. Arvind never made me feel bad, he also helped me through my depression. To me he was my God on earth but it all changed when you were about 7 years old, di and bhai came home to tell me that Papa had died and before he died he confused to them that Arvind was already married with two kids and I was just his mistress. But being blind in the love of Arvind, I didn't believe them and kicked them out and told them never to came back. After they left I went to his office in Lucknow where Arvind claim to work as an employee only to discover that he was the boss and was indeed married. I then realised how stupid I was for not believing my bhai and di and for ignoring the warning signs. I dedicated 11 years of my life to a con like Arvind. Somehow I was able to get the address of his house. When I got there it looked like there was a wedding about to take place, I was about to ask of him when I saw him walk away to the back of the house. I follow him and called his name and when he turned he was shocked at first and from my posture he realised I already found him out and more shocking was the fact that he never denied it when I confronted him and he even admitted to being behind my miscarriages because he didn't want any evidence of his infidelity. I then launched myself at him that was when Subhadra Malik came to yank me off her son. Being a woman I thought she will understand my pain but she supported her son saying it was traditional for the Malik men to have mistresses and that I must be grateful for being chosen as his mistress because unlike her and Ratna, they were chosen to be the wives and she kicked me out and Arvind threatened me oblivious of the fact that Ratna had heard everything and the rest you know what happened............That day was the worst today of my life, as if finding out I was just a play toy to Arvind was not enough, I received a call about di and bhai's death. When I rushed to the hospital, i saw you covered in blood. Realization of not believing your parents and sending them away killed me. I run away and tried to commit suicide by jumping into a river but Shashi who happened to pass by talked me out of it. That day for some unknown reason I opened up to him but he wasn't disgusted of me but rather helped me by going to the hospital with me. He also did the last rite of bhai and di, after that he offered to let us stay with but I refused thinking his wife will not allow it but he said Payal's mother divorced and left him and Payal for another man.
