"Show me the rune again." Myrcella heard someone say as she groggily opened her eyes. They were almost sewn shut from all the crying she did with her sister. They had talked about their mother and Clary almost convinced her sister that it wasn't her fault. Keyword; almost. The older Fairchild also hadn't seen Alec since her mother's funeral even though she knew he was the only one who felt the guilt she was. "Yeah, I'm not seeing it in the Gray Book." Myrcella turned right to see Jace with the book in his hands.

"Well, isn't that thing supposed to have every single rune?" Clary snapped back, clearly agitated and wanting to figure out the rune. She had shown the rune she saw to her sister as well but Myrcella had never seen it before.

"Some of them are removed. They're reserved for the most elite members of the Clave." The blond Shadowhunter explained as he put the book aside. Myrcella sat up, rubbing her eyes. She looked down to realize she still had dark veins on her arm.

"I'm not exactly elite, so why do I know it?" Clary questioned but made eye contact with her sister and gave her a warm smile. "Morning sis." She added with a soft voice. Now that her mother was gone, she was going to make sure she would never lose her sister.

"Maybe you saw it somewhere and you don't remember." Jace shot back after giving a ghost of a smile to Myrcella.

"No, it just... It appeared, like a vision. Like someone or something was trying to send me a message." Clary walked away rubbing her temple. "Maybe it's from our mom." She turned back giving a hopeful look to the two older Shadowhunters with a gleam in her eyes.

"Clary, I know you miss her-" Jace started out but Myrcella cut him off.

"I don't think there is a way for her to contact us." She frowned seeing the look on her sister's face. Myrcella didn't even know if there was a place her mother was at right now.

"How else do you explain it?" The younger sibling asked in defeat. She wanted to believe their mother was watching over them.

"I don't know." Jace and Myrcella replied at the same time.

"You know, I'll just go ask Izzy and Alec. Maybe they'll know something." Clary tore the page out and turned around only to be stopped by Jace.

"No. Absolutely not." He argued, taking the page from Clary and folding it up. "If you tell anyone else, they could be in danger, too." He added as he put the drawing in his back pocket. Clary gave him a pointed look, making him sigh. "The Clave is quick to persecute anyone or anything they don't understand." The blond Shadowhunter explained giving a look to Myrcella.

"Yeah, it's a matter of minutes before they start investigating me." Myrcella rolled her eyes just imagining the things the Clave would ask her. She was about to say something else but stopped when there was a knock at the door.
