PETER RATHAWAY stared at the ceiling of his bedroom. He could think of nothing to do. Two weeks ago when he would get like this, he would just play around with his powers and maybe if he could find a spare pen, weld something and bend it with heat.

As long as it wasn't plastic, last time it was plastic, the smoke alarms went off AND the pen melted completely.

He would even read to Aspen by now, but he couldn't because Aspen decided to join a Battle of the Books team at her school. Peter thought it was a horrible idea, seeing how Aspen has a terrible memory and 50% of the books she reads are read out loud by Peter to her. Peter asked Genevieve why Aspen joined and Gen insisted that there was a boy on the team that Aspen thought was cute.

And Peter tried to sign-up as a volunteer chaperone to the competition, but he didn't know when he wouldn't be grounded and the last thing he wanted to do was show up and scare the kids with his monitor that made him look like a kid that just got out of Juvi. But that boy. Maybe he did want to scare him.

Genevieve had just gone out to drop Aspen off at her "practice" with her team as she needed to go to a study group today as well and Penny was busy doing her school work and Peter did not want to help her with that. It wasn't like he didn't want to help or couldn't, but he took a long enough time doing his own Junior homework, he did not need to scramble his brain with Penny's that was way more advanced despite being in the "same" grade.

A knock sounded through the room from the other side of Peter's bedroom door.

"Come in," He answered abruptly. The last time he didn't answer in time, left his door broken. Aspen said it reminded her of the Pacifier scene. He couldn't argue.

Lucy opened the door and looked at Peter who was still lying on his bed, but he was staring at his caretaker now. She had her phone in her hand, the light from it radiating onto her shirt since her phone was turned away from his eyes.

"Yes?" Peter asked, starting this conversation.

Lucy looked down at the glowing light and cleared her throat, "Cisco says Barry needs your help at S.T.A.R Labs," She stated a little apprehensively.

Peter swung his legs over the side of his bed and looked at Lucy with hopeful eyes, this could finally be something that could make a change.

Lucy shook her head, "No, nothing like that,"

"What?" Peter said indignantly, "I didn't even say anything," He grabbed his shoes from underneath his bed, hidden by his hanging black duvet.

Lucy scoffed, "You didn't have to," She looked back at her phone again, "Anyway, Barry just said this would not put you in danger, but also might save someone's life, so get your shoes on-"

Lucy paused and looked at Peter who already had his shoes on and a backpack in his lap, waiting.

"We're going to S.T.A.R Labs,"

Lucy didn't even need to say anything more as Peter jumped up and practically ran to the car. It had been quite a bit since Peter had really been out other than the shoe store or whatever errand Peter ran with Genevieve while being tracked by Lucy and Joe.

Peter ran to the car and was gonna sit in the front seat only to find it already sat in by Penny who was reading The Great Gatsby.

"Did you really think I was just gonna leave Penny here all by herself?" Lucy rhetorically asked before getting inside the car and starting it as Peter begrudgingly got in the backseat and closed the side passenger door.
