15: The Spoiler

Wang Yi Bo is facing the mirror, afixing his hair in it's usual cool array of mess. It has been days since he cared about looking through the mirror, but with the thought that anytime his Zhan-ge would turn up again, he couldn't just allow himself to look so miserable and unkempt.

He had also practiced his smile and words of greetings, face-palming after realizing if someone sees him like that, they might be thinking he is a lunatic.

But is he not? The thought of seeing Xiao Zhan again, makes his heart full and smile like a mad man.

Limping, he went outside the bath, unexpectedly receiving a firm embrace from a girl named Jennie Liu.

His mood instantly was spoiled and his eyes grew dim.

"Let go." he commanded but the girl refused, further tightening her squeeze and burying her face in his chest.

Wang Yi Bo hate saying things twice. And so with controlled force, he pushed her away. He neither show any concern nor guilt when he saw her feeble body swayed and fell.

"Get lost." Yi Bo viciously snarled at the woman.

But she did not listen. She had been head-over-heels for him, blind and stupid, but that is how she loves, and how she chose to love Wang Yi Bo. Despite the harsh words, the physical and emotional tornment, she would not just give up on him.

"I am your girlfriend! Are you not happy to see me?!"

The word girlfriend, made WYB's blood boil. Between his gritted teeth, he said, "Let's be clear, my career is done. Your company has abandoned me, and thus this crap-fake relationship is over!"

Jennie knew that. But she couldn't let him go. He is everything she had ever wanted. He is everything to her. Through his father's company sponsoring WYB's race and competitions, she had managed to lure him to be her boyfriend. But all he was given her was a cold treatment. They were a couple just with the label, but never did he give her his time, nor a speck of affection.

She does not know why he can't reciprocate her feelings. A famous model and blooming actress, she is known to the entertainment industry because of her beauty and wealthy background. She has fans and supporters who adored her relentlessly, but why can't she win his heart? Or even earn a single glance from him?

Her eyes started to water. She lunged towards him again and pleaded. "Give me another chance. I will ask father to sponsor you again. Tell me what you want me to do, I'll do anything for you!"

The sight of her is giving Yi Bo a headache. He is immune to such tears and plea. He had played with dozens of maiden hearts in the last 3 years, but never did he feel anything when he break their hearts.

For the second time, he pushed her away. Her drama has totally ruined his mood. "Whatever you do, I won't like you. Just get lost! Never show your face in front of me again!" He yelled boring each sharp word into her being.

The words might have been too loud and someone from outside had heard the commotion. His room door made a loud thud and a man on his 50s wearing a white coat emerged, his eyes cold, his stature authoritative, his beard as flawless as Yi Bo can remember.

It was his Uncle Huang Zi Teng (Lan Qi Ren), Medical Director of the hospital Yi Bo has been admitted to.

His eyes ran through both of them, eyebrow twitching with the scene. "You spoiled brat! What is going on in here?!"

Yi Bo did not flinch a bit. "Drag her out! How can your hospital allow unwanted visitors in?" He spat back.

Huang Zi Teng, clicked his tongue in irritation. If they weren't in the hospital premise he would have smacked his nephew's head, and make him kneel on the sand to repent his words and actions.

He looked at the young lady with displeasure, impatiently waiting for her to leave as what his nephew has demanded, but she was firm in her ground.

Thankfully, someone had come in to intervene.

"The patient needs to rest. If you will, will you please leave for now."

It was Lu Jian Min (Jiang Fengmian), Head of Surgeons in the hospital, wearing a white coat like Huang Zi Teng, but in contrast, he was smiling gently to everyone present in that room.

Pride crushed, heart torn and presence unappreciated, Jennie Liu clumsily bowed to the old men then made her way out.

Dr.Huang was glaring at Yi Bo, and Yi Bo did the same. Dr.Lu sighed, urging Yi Bo to take a sit, as he saw how strainful it was for him as he balanced himself with just his left leg.

"It seems you're popularity with girls is still on it's peak." Dr.Lu teased to ease the tension.

"What is there to boast about flirting and hooking up with random girls?!" Dr.Huang disapprovingly commented.

Lu Jian Min, looked at Huang Zi Teng, eyes pleading for him to relax and let the subject go. "One day, he'll find someone and these escapades will come to an end." He tapped Yi Bo's shoulder and gave him a wink. "But for now, let's talk about your therapy. I'll be overseeing your treatment from now on. I hope you don't mind."

He had only come back from an overseas conference and thus he wasn't the lead for Yi Bo's surgery and care, but once he spotted his name in the surgical patient list, he immediately wanted to see him.

He has seen him growing up, and with his chosen path of career, he had known, sooner or later such accidents might occur.

"Ah, by the way. My nephew has gone back to this country. I haven't seen him, but have you?"

Yi Bo gaped at Dr.Lu. He had almost forgotten Dr.Lu is Xiao Zhan's Uncle. In fact, he was the reason why they knew each other.

At one point, Xiao Zhan was hospitalized due to a bad flu and Wang Yi Bo comes frequently to visit him, and everytime he did, he sees his Uncle, Dr.Lu.

"He has seen me. It's just you who haven't." Zhan walked in the room, wearing the same warm smile as Dr.Lu.

The three looked at him, they could see the beads of sweat on his forehead. Dr.Huang couldn't help but ask, "Have you been running?"

Zhan let out a soft laugh, wiping his face with his sleeves. "Just a bit."

He did not tell them he was rushing to get in there, as he only has an hour between his classes, and driving to and from the hospital takes about 45 minutes of that short hour.

But the hassle doesn't matter to him, he wants to keep his word: to make sure Yi Bo eats properly, and help him if he needs to.

Zhan glanced at him, who was staring at him concernedly. A smile crossed his face, his heart felt warm, and he can't help but reminisce how Yi Bo had cared for him when he was the one on that hospital bed. And this time, he told himself, it is his turn to do the same for him.

I feel like this is quite a long chapter! I just wanted to answer the query why ZX knew which hospital WYB was confined after the accident.
And I would like to introduce a third party, Jennie Liu.

Question: should I make a 4th party? I am thinking of another girl entering their lives. Should I do it? 😂
