Chapter 20

Erika's POV
When I walk out of the bathroom, Anthony's jaw drops. He sits down on the bed, and I climb onto his lap, teasing him.

A) dayum *smirks*
E) we gotta wait till later *sighs*
A) *looks at watch* yeah but we don't gotta leave for another 25 mins *smirks*

As I'm sitting on Anthony's lap, I see my phone go off. Anthony grabs it, and gives me a weird look.

A) it's jake.
E) how the hell-

I grab my phone from him to read what jake said. I started tearing up. I quickly went into the bathroom and shut the door. Anthony came in behind me.

A) babe, don't worry about him *sighs*

When I looked at Anthony in the mirror, all I could think about was jake. I put on a fake smile and hugged Anthony. I'm really questioning my feelings for Anthony right now. We head out and get into an Uber. We go to LIV (a club) and we get out. Then I spot someone who looks familiar. Before I even got the chance to look, Anthony went off with Grayson & Shannon.

Jakes POV
Logan and I drove to LIV. I just wanted to get out of the apartment, and have some fun. As I walked in, I noticed Anthony with Grayson and Shannon. But then; I noticed erika. She smiled. I motioned for Logan to go in, and I walked towards Erika. I could see that she was nervous.

J) hey *smiles*
E) h-hey *sighs*

She walks off, leaving me standing alone. I follow her in.

J) Erika can we talk? Outside? *sighs*
E) I guess

I grab her hand, and we walk outside and sit on the nearest bench. We sit in silence for a bit. I put my hand on Erika's thigh and looked at her.

J) Erika, I'm sorry *sighs*
E) we're not even together so I don't know why your taking to me right now *tears up*
J) Erika, I broke up with Julia.
E) why?!
J) for you *smiles*

I look at her, and smiles. She looks disgusted, then my smile slowly turns into a frown.

J) Erika..? *sighs*
E) jake I'm with Anthony! *tears up*

Erika's POV
I let go of his hand and I go inside to find Anthony. All a sudden I run into Logan. He hugs me, and I hug him back. We talk for a bit, but then he walks off to find jake. Anthony walks over to me.

A) where have you been *sighs*
E) jake was talking to me *rolls eyes*
A) ignore him, you have me now *smiles*

- 3 months later -

It's now February 4th, aka the day my mom passed away. Today I have to get up and go to school. Anthony and I broke up a month ago, but we're still super close friends. We just weren't feeling it, which is okay. I get dressed and I get in my Jeep. When I arrive at school, I took a deep breath. Today was gonna be hard. All I could think about is my mom. Anthony came up and knocked on the window.

A) hey *smiles*

I open the door and I get out. I hug Anthony.

A) I know today is gonna be hard for you, but don't worry. The whole group knows and we'll do our best to get your mind off of it.
E) thank you *tears up*

Anthony wipes my tears away from my face. He puts his arm around me and we walk into school. I haven't used my locker in months because I've just been carrying my books. When I open it, I see pictures of jake and i. I tear up. I quickly close it and I head to 1st period.

Jakes POV
Today is the day. I talked to Anthony, and I found out they broke up. This is my first day back at school in 5 months. I get ready, and I go to school. I walk into 1st period late.

J) AYO! *yells*

The whole class welcomes me back, except for erika. She's sitting in the back. And my seat still isn't take so I sit beside her.

Erika's POV
What.The.Hell. I was hoping he'd stay in Miami.

Jakes POV
I write a note, and I slide it over to Erika's desk. It said the following:

Erika, meet me by the track after school. I really need to talk to you.

She lifted her head and looked at me. She showed no emotion. I doubt she'll even show up.

- 6 hours later -

It's now 9th period gym. I see erika and the girls sitting on the bleachers. Erika looks upset. After class ended, I got changed and started walking towards the track. But then someone yanks on my wrist. I turn around and it's Drew.
