"If I asked you to come on a last-minute trip, would you?" James asked the table as he slammed his lunch tray on the table. Riya simply shook her head. "I feel like you'd kill me." Chase laughed, continuing with eating. Scarlet and Ashley exchanged eye contact for a bit before Scarlet spoke for both of them. "Sure" Ashley accompanied the statement with a nod. James looked and the raven-haired girl. She wasn't the type to accept things without knowing the risks and when Riya wasn't there, she was the brains of the group. "Okay, you're everyone's ride or die, Scarlett," James started taking a bite of his food. "But I'm surprised you'd join in Ash." his forest green eyes meeting her sapphire orbs. The ebony-haired girl simply shrugged, quickly chewing her food to reply. "Someone has to make sure you two don't kill yourselves." She smiled at the wavy-haired brunette, letting faint pink dust his cheeks. He turned away from her so she wouldn't see. He wanted to protect that smile, the smile that she didn't use that often, a genuine smile. He'd only see it when she was with Tim and he envied the boy. He had would trust her with his life and wanted her to be able to do the same.
