Wolf shot Jerry and Catherine when they approached Victoria, sending them crashing to the floor, leaving them unconscious for a few hours. He turned back to Yolanda. "You're next, sweetie."

"Sweetie?" Yolanda snarled before walking backward.

"Scared?" Wolf arched his brow. "What happened to the terrifying succubus from a few seconds ago?" He wanted to feel good about holding all the cards at that moment, but the fight was far from over.

Glancing at Victoria, he signaled with his head for her to escape. She didn't understand, tapping her ear with her forefinger, indicating for him to speak up.

Yolanda took off her orange cassock, revealing an hour-glass shaped metallic body, perfect for a succubus. Its silver color spread up her neck, shaving off her head's dark skin and green eyes before taking their place. Her whole body was now silver and metallic.

"Shit!" Wolf fired multiple rounds at her, to no avail. The bullets struck her body like a tiny pillow hitting a gigantic metal wall. He kept shooting until the volt guns ran out of charge and they dematerialized back into the nano-ring.

Yolanda chuckled before she twisted and turned while wailing like she was giving birth. Her body cracked and popped like fireworks, making Wolf and Victoria cover their ears and clench their jaws.

The deacon's body enlarged, her torso elongated, and her legs joined to form a thorax. Four legs materialized from her abdomen, giving her the appearance of an insect.

"Victoria, come to me," Wolf said.

She went and stood beside him while staring at the horror show in front of them.

Wolf pressed the nano-ring multiple times and a plasma bomb materialized. He threw it at the wall behind him, and it stuck. It beeped three times before exploding, releasing plasma liquid that ate through the wall and left a hole big enough to fit two grown men.

Yolanda was in mid-transformation. Once she was in her true state, Wolf wouldn't be able to deal with her in that small room. He needed an open space if he had a chance to take her down.

"Do you trust me?" Wolf asked Victoria.

"I just met you," she replied.

"Good enough." He carried her in his arms, making her squeal. "Wednesday, activate the jet boots." The thrusters on his shoes turned on.

Wolf dashed for the hole in the wall and jumped through. Victoria screamed her lungs out and yelled multiple profanities at him before crying out to her father for help. "Open your eyes, Victoria."

The young woman did and saw they were on the ground. She patted her own body before laughing. "I didn't doubt you for one second, Wolf."

He rolled his eyes. "Sure."

A roar of cheers and honking of horns took his attention away from the dark sky and towards his surrounding area. Cars and bikes sped past them, skidding into different streets while the drivers and passengers screamed with joy. With the city's shield down, anyone could enter and leave.

"Go find the woman who came to save you," Wolf told Victoria.

"No, don't leave—"

"Trust me, you're better off with her. I told you who I came here for, and I'm not leaving without her."

"It's a suicide mission." She frowned and crossed her arms.

"That's the job, kid. If this is the last time we see each other, tell the system I died handsomely." He smiled before she lightly punched his chest.

"I'm glad I didn't betray you." She smiled too.

"Same." He patted her head. This time she didn't swat his hand away, giving him a final nod before running off.

When Victoria cut a corner and disappeared from Wolf's view, something snatched him from the ground and thrust him to the side. He crashed through a building wall and rolled on the floor. Even though every part of his body screamed in agony, he got up immediately and flew out.

A fifteen-foot metallic butterfly hovered in the air, casting its shadow over him.

"Yolanda," he said.

She smiled. "I'm going to enjoy tearing you apart."

"Bring it on."

She flew at him with a snarl on her face, her sharp claws aimed at him. He jumped to the side, escaping her clutches. Yolanda's feet screeched on the road before turning to him, her cold metallic eyes fixated on him and poisoned with rage.

Wolf stood in a fighting stance, his clenched fists raised and legs spread. "Is that all you got?"

The golem flew to the sky and spread her wings, looking like an angel. She brought her legs up and closed her wings, her attention on Wolf. Then she dived towards him with all her momentum.

Wolf knew he had no way of escaping. His jet boots helped him evade her by a couple of feet. If she was to get close and open her wings, then he was done for. Luckily for him, he had an ace up his sleeve.

He tapped the nano-ring until he got to the second last file. The weapon inside could only be used four times before the ring broke—that was how much power it required. He had saved it for The Forgotten Nuns, but it wouldn't matter if he died.

The ring transformed into a nano-glove with a repulsor mounted on the palm. He stood there, anxiously watching Yolanda head for him with the glare of a hungry predator. He had to time this perfectly. If he miscalculated even by a second, he would die.

When Yolanda was a few feet away from him, Wolf pointed the repulsor in her direction and shot out a white beam, disintegrating half of her body. What remained of her dropped to the ground, smoke oozing off its corpse.

Wolf fell to his knees, breathing heavily. That was close. He had one hand on his chest, feeling his racing heart. If a deacon-level golem was this hard to kill, did he have a chance against The Forgotten Nuns?

He put his hands on his head and screamed his heart out, his voice fading into the inky sky. A sense of dread plunged into his chest as there was no moon for him to admire, and a sour taste corrupted his tongue. He puked.

"Wolf, are you alright?" Wednesday asked.

He rubbed his mouth with the back of his hand. "I will be." Wolf was happy to be alive but terrified as to what awaited him with The Forgotten Nuns. He couldn't let fear stop him, not when he was so close to completing the bounty. "Look through the security feeds and tell me where The Forgotten Nuns are?"

"I can't see them."

"How's that possible?"

"They must be wearing a device that cloaks them from the cameras."

He sighed. "Oh, well, I guess we'll have to look for them the old-fashioned way."

"Wolf," a voice said from above him.

He looked up and saw Olivia staring at him from the cathedral's roof, her face battered and bruised. "I never thought I'd live long enough to witness the day where I'm happy to see a hyena."

"I can say the same thing."

"You hate hyenas too?"

"Shut up."

They smiled at each other.
