Mexico adored Jose Jose and loved all of his songs that came out. He listened to his songs religiously and he has been to almost all of his concerts even when his voice gradually got worse. He knew personally and still loved him to bits even during the age of his alcoholism.
So when Jose Jose died, Mexico was so distraught he didn't leave his house for a solid month. Jose Jose was a big part of Mexican society which is why it had such a big toll on Mexico. He still cries for him.
