~AT THE ELDER GILMORE'S HOUSE BEFORE THE PARTY~

"Jeez, Mom. Leave some servants for the rest of the neighborhood" Mom jokingly said "There they are the birthday girls" Grandma said coming over to us "Hi Grandma" We said at the same time "Wow, you really went all out, huh?" Mom asks "Well I wanted everything to be perfect. What do you think?" Grandma asks "I think Edith Wharton would have been proud, and busy taking notes" Mom said "Here, babes, go change" Mom said handing us our bag that has our cloths in it "OK" we said at the same time "Hurry!" Grandma yelled at us.

We were in moms old room changing "so are you ready for tonight?" I ask "Yeah oh are you gonna be okay you know with your anxiety tonight?" Rory asks "yeah don't worry about me I'll be fine let's have fun tonight okay" I say and she nods.

~Cut to the party~

Me and Rory were sitting by each other not really enjoying the party when mom came over and handed us both something to drink "Here" she said. "What is it?" Rory asks "Shirley Temple." Mom said "What are you drinking?" I ask looking at her drink "A Shirley Temple Black" Mom said Me and Rory look at her and lean in to smell her drink, "Wow!" Rory says wow it smelled strong "I got your Good Ship Lollipop right here, mister. So do you two want something to eat?" Mom says/asks

"Everything smells funny" I say and Rory nods her head in agreement "There you are. Come, there's some people I want you to meet" Grandma Said pulling Rory away while I stayed with mom.

"Lorelai?" some person asked coming up to us "Yeah. Oh my God! Oh, Mitzie, wow, I haven't seen you since" Mom said "Your seventh month" Mitzi interrupted mom "I was going to say high school, but OK" Mom said shocked after she remembered the person

"Oh, no, did I say something rude?" Mitzi asked 'uh yeah kind of lady' I thought in my head "No, no" Mom said and put on a fake smile "No, I did. I said something rude. I've been trying to work on that" Mitzi says "Well, a noble goal" Mom said and moved a little bit "Ever since my divorce, I've been really trying to work on myself. You know, I just... I want to grow" Mitzi said and I was just standing there watching this play out "Uh-huh" Mom says

"Lorelai Gilmore, the scandal girl! Now, tell me, what ever happened with Christopher?" Mitzi asks and I froze I hate talking about him "Christopher is in California" Mom says "Oh, do you hear from him?" Mitzi questioned "Uh" mom started but was cut off "I'm sorry, is this painful for you to talk about?" Mitzi questioned 'well I mean for me yes but mom probably not' I thought

"Uh, well" mom started but was once again cut off "When did he last call you?" Mitzi asks "God, you're making progress with that rude thing, huh, Mitz?" Mom said finally getting a chance to talk "I'm sorry" Mitzi said and kind of looked away "It's okay. He calls like once a week and we see him at Christmas, sometimes Easter. It's all very civil" mom says even though it is a lie.

"So are you married now?" Mitzi asks and my eye's got big "No, it's just me, Alex, and Rory." Mom said pulling me a little closer to her. "Your cats?" Mitzi questions "My daughters! One is right over there and one is standing right here next to me" Mom says and puts an arm over me shoulder "Oh. Wow! You can really see Christopher in her, can't you?"She asks looking at Rory and turns to me

"Oh and you look so much like Lorelai" she said looking at me. "Yes, she does look a lot like me she acts a lot like me and yeah you can see the Christopher in Rory" Mom said and a small smile was on her face "Does that kill you?" Mitzi asks "You know, what? I see...someone...else...and it's been great" Mom said pulled me away "good grief she is something" I said and mom nodded.
