(Seina's POV)
I stalked through the halls of Ouran Academy to reach my classroom. I found it with ease and settled into an empty seat, smoothing out the creases in my puffy yellow dress and adjusting the delicate white cuffs. I then laid out my stationary and books. I was pondering schedule changes and how this would effect my commitments when I was rudely brought back to the present. 'Someone got more beautiful over the holidays.'
'Mmmm, hmmm.'
I looked up into the grinning faces of the Hitachiin twins and raised an eyebrow, unimpressed 'Karou, Hikaru. I am glad to see you are both well. I trust you both had a good holiday.'
They stared at me, leaning on my desk, 'Seina how can you be so cold? You're meant to apologise for not hanging out with us all holiday and then-'
'-throw yourself into our forgiving arms!' They finished in unison.
I shook my head and allowed my lips to curl into the tiniest smile. There was never a dull moment when the Hitachiin twins were around. We had become friends over the years as they found my serious, impassive nature amusing, spending hours attempting to provoke a reaction. I didn't mind. I had enough patience for both of them and their wealth made them worthy connections.
Not long afterwards Haruhi entered the classroom, taking the seat beside mine. I smiled at her and engaged in polite chit chat. Behind me I could hear angry muttering on account of the fact I was hogging the attention of three of the most desired boys in the academy. I scoffed as they continued to gossip, I was looking forward to them finding out that Haruhi was female. I knew her true identity because I had met her outside the library on the first day, as we were both leaving in search of better places to study. Our conversation had been brief and formal but her use of female pronouns had not escaped me, especially when she turned up at school not long after that in the male uniform. We had since become quite friendly as we were equally studious and therefore worked well together. The twins were of course a different story.
After class, I remained in my seat intending to get a head start on the homework. However, naturally, the twins had other plans.
'Seina come hang out with us. Come on you can come with us to the host club and we'll show you around.'
'I'm busy.'
'Seina! Don't be like that. Please! You can't possibly have schoolwork to do yet. Come hang out. We'll play a game.' They stood grinning at each other as if they had just made the winning argument.
'I have business to take care of on behalf of my family's company. Then I thought I would get a head start going through the textbooks for this year.'
They stared at me as if trying to work out if I was joking. 'She's just like Kyoya-senpai!' They groaned in unison.
I looked at them blankly, 'You mean there is someone else who has to put up with you two? He has my deepest sympathy.'
Kaoru looked surprised. 'You don't know Kyoya- senpai?'
'I don't believe so. Why? Should I?'
'Kyoya Ootori. Youngest son of Yoshio Ootori? Third in line to the Ootori group? He seems like exactly the kind of person you would have rubbed shoulders with. Aren't you friendly with all the wealthiest families?' Hikaru answered nonchalantly but I could feel both their eyes boring into me as the name finally drew a face to the surface. A handsome guy with angular features and dark hair but cold eyes and an arrogant smirk.

I had met the whole family at a charity dinner a couple of years ago and danced with all three brothers. While the older two had conveyed boredom and disinterest, they had remained polite.
Kyoya Ootori on the other hand had made it clear to me that my efforts to charm or befriend him would be pointless as 'a little girl' like me was 'insignificant' and 'didn't stand a chance of being named heir' and therefore had nothing to offer. At the time I was about as amused as I was pissed off. His bitterness and personal resentment were clear and I knew that he was ignorant of my family affairs as I had long been groomed as heir, unlike him. His honesty was also refreshing compared to all the charming men with their courtesies and false words. So I smiled and held his hand tighter, digging my fingernails into his skin just a little. He smirked as if amused by my failure to hurt him but he was distracted and hadn't noticed my other hand loosen from his back.
A small gasp of pain escaped his mouth as my small blade sliced a tiny slit in the seam of his shirt and through to the flesh beneath. His eyes widened in surprise as his hand went to the wound and the song finished. I leaned towards him so my lips were beside his ear, 'To remember me by.' I then turned and left the dance floor.
I stood a distance away watching the dazed Ootori still standing in the middle of the room looking at the blood on his hand. After a moment my Uncle appeared beside me. 'Seina please tell me you didn't just do what I think you did. That bracelet was for emergencies only. Concealed blades are not especially legal.'
I glanced up at him amused, 'As if you're not wealthy enough to get out of whatever you wish.' I moved my attention back to Ootori. 'Plus he insulted me.'
'Oh really?'
I nodded and repeated what the unfortunate Ootori had said to me.
It was my Uncle's turn to be amused, 'Alright Seina but in the future please resolve issues more appropriately.'
I smiled 'Of course Uncle.' But he had already disappeared.

'Seina? Seina!' I was jolted back from my thoughts by Hikaru calling my name. 'So do you know him or not?'
I made a face. 'Mmm. It appears I do. My sympathies are withdrawn.' The twins looked at each other nervously, then to a bewildered Haruhi. 'So Ootori is a member of your host club?' All three nodded at me. Before any of them could say another word I stood up 'On second thoughts, I can work later. I'm heading home.' Without another word I slipped from the classroom, my phone already pressed to my ear as I called for my driver. Now that I thought about it they had mentioned Ootori many times before, I just hadn't realised that their 'Kyoya-senpai' was also the boy I met at the dinner. Small world.

(Kaoru's POV)
As we made our way to the music room, Seina swirled around my head and I couldn't help wondering how she knew Kyoya-senpai and why they didn't seem to get along. I would have thought they'd get along well, considering their many similarities. Then again I didn't know Seina nearly as well as I would have liked, despite being closer to her than Hikaru was. As we walked into the host club everything seemed normal. Tamaki-senpai was sulking in a corner muttering about us being late and not caring about our 'family'. It appeared Honey-senpai had also grown tired of waiting for us as he was busy munching through a large pile of sweet treats, albeit under the watchful eyes of his constant protector Mori-senpai. Kyoya-senpai was busy tapping away at his computer, a ledger and his ever present black notebook open beside him. Hikaru and I made a bee line for him, Haruhi reluctantly trailing behind us, equally curious but anxious to appear otherwise lest he raise her debts in retaliation.
It wasn't long before Kyoya-senpai found himself facing our mischievous grins. We had never had anything on him before and we were giddy at the prospect.
'Can I help you two?' He inquired, his eyes already returned to his laptop.
'Seina.' 'Kamei.' Finished Hikaru. Kyoya-senpai's head shot up at the name before he composed himself and narrowed his eyes. He could pretend all he liked but that reaction was confession enough.
'What about her?'
'We want to know why us mentioning you would cause her to abandon her precious studies and go home.' Hikaru finished, typically thoughtlessly. If Seina found out about this she would kill us.
Kyoya-senpai paused for a second as if considering then smirked, 'Well, she is clearly in love with me. It's not unusual.'
We shook our heads firmly. 'Nope she definitely hates you.'
'I see.' By now our conversation had attracted the attention of the rest of the club and all eyes were on Kyoya-senpai as he rose from his seat and collected his things, leaving without another word. We all stared after him, exchanging confused glances. Except for Tamaki-senpai who smiled and nodded to himself.
