Mizuki's POV

After dinner, I said goodbye to Kei's mom so I could go back home. My heart was beating faster, and I don't really know what to say to my father. I don't want to apologize, but I don't want to fight for my point too. Should I just emphasize my side?

My hands are cold, my feet are unstable, my breath is shaky, and my mind is a fuzz.

Kei's mom let me borrow an umbrella so me and Tsukki don't have to share. Although Oba-san wants that. She also let me borrow a pair of slippers. We both walked under the pouring rain. It was night so it's already dark out, only the lights from the streetlights guides us. The rain mellowed down a bit so it's a bit easier to walk outside.

We were about to take a turn to the street where my house is located, but we heard two women chatting.

"What a poor man. His daughter must've ran away.", one of them said.

"Yeah, he looked like he's been looking for his daughter for a while now.", the other one said.

Me and Tsukishima stopped walking, eyes wide. We looked at each other, knowing what we had in mind. We started walking faster. In the distance, we saw a man in the middle of the street with no umbrella. He was drenched, but he looked like he was looking for someone. Could it be?

We walked closer and my eyes widened, brimming with tears.

"He's back.", I mumbled.

Tsukishima and I looked at each other again. I didn't know what to say, but I know that I'm finally getting what I wanted.

What I needed.

"Mizuki?! Where's my little girl?", my father called out, whispering the last sentence before kneeling down on the street.

I smiled and wiped my tears away.

"Papa!", I called, running to him,. He quickly looked in my direction and I attacked him with a hug, crying again, sheltering us both under my umbrella.

"Mizuki, oh thank God.", he hugged me back, crying too.

This is it. I felt his hug again. I felt his care again. My real father, the one I grew up with, the one that raised me, the one I laughed with, the one I cried with, the one that loved me and my mom. I could feel his gentle yet tight hug. I could feel his regret and sadness. And most importantly, I felt his love again. I was so happy, this indescribable happiness I felt reassured me that it will last for a long time.

"I'm sorry, I'm s-sorry, Miki, I'm really sorry.", he said while crying. He let me go and stroked my hair. I let him go and wiped my tears. He cupped my face and kissed my forehead, hugging me again.

"Papa, you'll get sick.", I said, readjusting the umbrella.

"Wait, I don't understand, are you okay? Where did you stay? Who took care of you?", he asked, holding my shoulder, looking at my new clothes.

"Him.", I said, looking at Tsukishima who was standing there with a small smile.

Papa looked where I was looking, confused. Tsukishima bowed to him when they met each other's gazes. Papa smiled and tried to stand up, but ended up falling. Tsukishima ran up to us and helped my father stand up.

"Papa, are you okay? We need to go inside, you'll get sick.", I said, putting his arm on my shoulder. Tsukishima did the same.

"My head hurts a bit, I'll be fine.", he replied.

"You need to take a bath, let's go.", I said and we walked towards the house.

We entered and helped Papa to the bathroom, walking pass the shards of glass and drops of blood on the floor. I turned the warm water on and exit the bathroom, letting him take a bath.
