Anakin's POV

The air is thick with dust. I can barely see. Across the battlefield, I see Alimyra, my wife, fighting off several Separatists, gray lightsabers flashing. Out of nowhere, a laser hits her in the back, and she screams in pain. I try to run to her, but Obi Wan pulls me back.

"Focus, Anakin," he yells. I try to do as he says. I slay as many Separatists as I can, but I find myself being drawn back to Alimyra. Obi Wan pulls me back once more.

"Anakin, I need you here!"

"Alimyra got hurt! I have to help her."

"Someone's already got her. Anakin, please, I need you to focus so you can help me." I nod and continue to fight. All the while, worry over Alimyra is tugging at the back of my mind.

I pace across my room. I haven't seen Alimyra since we got back. Even then, all I saw was a flash of her black hair before she was whisked off to the med bay.

The door to our quarters shuts with a quiet click. I turn around and run to Alimyra, examining her. "Are you alright? Are you hurt? Who shot you? Where have you been?"

"Anakin, slow down. It's okay, love, I'm fine." She runs her fingers through my hair, whispering reassurances. I hug her tightly.

"I was so worried, Ali. I saw you get hurt, but Obi Wan--"

"Shh, don't think about it. I'm alright now, I promise." Alimyra takes a deep breath. "There's something I need to tell you." She leads me to the couch and we sit down. I can feel her fear in the Force. She looks like she's about to cry. "Anakin.... I'm pregnant." We're both silent for a moment.

"Pregnant?" She nods, and a grin breaks over my face. I hug her tightly.

"Oh, Ali, this is the best thing I've heard all week."

"Anakin.... If the Masters find out, I'll be excommunicated. I'll be on my own, and--"

"You won't be alone, Alimyra. If the Jedi kick you out, I'll go with you. We'll find somewhere nice and warm with no sand or snow to raise our child. It'll be great. We can--"

Alimyra cuts me off with a kiss. "I love you, Ani."

"I love you, too."

Years Later

Alimyra and I laugh as Luke and Leia run through the yard. Luke is trying his hardest to catch his sister, but she's simply faster than him. "Alright, kids," Alimyra finally says through her laughter. Time for dinner." Luke and Leia run into the house. I hug Alimyra and kiss her head.

"I'm glad we left."

"Yeah. Me too." We hold hands as we walk inside.
