Previously on Shadow...

That's where all of this started. Leo mentioned a prophecy when we first meet. This explains it all. From the first attack to Don being assigned to protect me, the bounty on my head, the waiter, the godforsaken ghost boy, everything.

To say the least, I was livid.

"Why didn't anyone tell me this sooner?!" I yell at the top of my lungs.

Felix winces at my volume but stands quite with his hands in his pocket. I can't help but let out a humorless laugh.

"Tell me something Felix and I need to be brutally honest with me right now because I am trying to understand the utter shit fest that you have all put me in right now, okay?" I say calmly.

Felix slowly nods his head and I notice his knees bend a little and his eyes scan over my body for any sign of attack. Just like the bloody cat he is.

"Why? Why keep this immensely vital piece of information from me? It's almost as if you all wanted me to die!"

"We told by him to not say anything to you for your-"

"Wait, wait, wait. Him who? "

"Your grandfather"

"My grandfather?! Pause..... as in the angel or the one who owned a country club?"

"The Angel. The one who owned a country club was a decoy or sorts" Felix shrugs.

My jaw unhinged itself as I penned and closed it like a fish out of water.

"WAS MY WHOLE GOD DAMN LIFE A LIE?!" I screech.

Felix dipped slightly like he was about to run but prevented himself from doing so. I narrow my eyes and scoff turning back to the drawer I was shuffling through.

"Sorry natural instinct..." he mumbled.

"Just give me a minute and I'll be out" I mumble.

"I'll be outside when your ready"

The door shut as I sat on the bed. I let out a loud sigh and ran my fingers into my knotted curls.

I look out of the window again to the green meadow that seems to go on for miles and never ends. I watch as little boys and girls run around on another and roll amongst mother nature's green hair. One little boy in the particular looked similar to... Don.

My Don.

My love...

The aching my chest arose again as I felt hot tears burn my eyes with agony.

I hope he's okay...

I hope they're all okay...

I stand to my feet again wiping the few tears that rolled down my face with pity and gathered my clothes getting dressed.

I slung the door open seeing Felix jump back.

He narrowed his eyes with a smirk as I cracked a small smile.

"You cheeky little thing, come one"

We walked through the house and out what seemed to be the backdoor. We were meet with a clothesline and a white picket fence with a large garden growing in the right corner.    Rusted old metal chair and cracked peeling paint off wood benches gave to the old-timey cottage aesthetic. I shuffled after Felix in the tall unkept grass to the left side of the house to the gravel like wall beside the brick chimney. Felix bent his large frame over and opened up a set of wooden double doors presenting stairs lit by torches.
