Adeliah’s POV

After the kiss, neither of us have said anything. Harry calmed me down, we would exchange glances and he would kiss me temple several times. The silence was not awkward at all, I found it comfortable. After that, he had to return to his job.

“Wait for me here, my shift’s almost over. I’ll walk you home.” He secured me.

“Okay.” I said. My body is a bit shaky, not because of the creep, but the kiss got me stunned.

He smiled and walked to the register and turned off the cashier machine. He took out his red apron, which I think it’s the uniform of the bakery, and came towards me. We intertwined our hands together, and stroll down the street hand-in-hand.

“You never told me that you work in a bakery before.”

“I...I think it wasn’t um…important.” He stuttered. He was getting nervous already?

“It’s okay. You look cute in that apron.” I smiled.

“Well, that’s good that I can rock an apron.” He cheekily remarked.

Harry can make you laugh anytime, and I love him so much for that.

After so many cheeky remarks, we went back to my place. I didn’t want to unlock away from his soft hand yet, it’s so warm and it makes you feel protected.

I leaned into him and gave him a fast kiss on the cheek, “Thank you. For everything.”

“I’ll always be there for you, Ade. Remember that.” He said, returning to the kiss to my lip.

Somehow, that feels like a promise.

Harry’s POV

I twisted and turned in my bed. I couldn’t feel anymore happier. You asked her out, Harry! Well, I didn’t ask that question, but I said I love you to her. I still can’t stand the fact that someone would dare to harm her that way, I made a promise to myself that I will protect her. I have failed to do that today, I won’t fail again. After today, Ade has meant something more to me. I’m not a flower-and-hearts kind of guy, but I’ll try my hardest to make you happy.

The next morning, as I’ve planned, I waited Ade outside of her door. I got a croissant with a strawberry jam filling, it’s her favorite. I stood in front of her door for a few minutes and there she was. She looked gorgeous in her white dress, she’s a resemblance of an angel. With her silky brown hair and her hazelnut eyes, she looked even more gorgeous.

“You look stunning.” I complimented, giving her a morning kiss on the cheek.

“Stunning for you.” I’m not a morning person, but I will definitely be looking forward to mornings if it was with Ade.

I handed the croissant, “Got something for you.”

Her eyes instantly lit up, “Lovely. You got my favourite!”

“Of course I did, anything for you.”

We walked together to school. Ade said she had a nightmare last night of that creep, I didn’t like that one bit. I feel so useless when she talks about her nightmares. It’s like knowing the person you loved getting hurt and you can’t do anything about it. I can only calm her down, I don’t know how to catch those nightmares from falling into Ade’s sleep.

I was in my deep thoughts until Ade asked me a very important question, “What are we Harry?”

Why is she asking this? That would be because I haven’t officially asked her out yet. Then, I thought of an idea.

“Meet me at the park after school.” I said.

“Which one?” She was confused.

“The one. Ours.”

 She nodded her head, “Okay.”
