Adeliah’s POV

I saw Harry. He let out his voice and sang to a song that I didn’t know. His voice was gorgeous and beautiful. He looked a slightest bit older, and he was laughing at me. We were at the park, chasing each other through the trees. We were having so much fun that is until I saw a tornado coming towards us.

“Baby! Run!” I shouted.

“Adeliah!” But it was too late. He was taken away by the tornado.

I screamed, waking up in a pool of sweat and a face filled with tears. I hate my nightmares, they always try to take something away from me when I thought I finally got it. I secured myself, and went to sleep.

I woke up feeling miserable. Just one more school day and it’s fall break. Come on Adeliah, you can do this.

“Where were you after-school?” My mum’s voice made me jump. I was brushing my teeth.

“I was with Harry at the park, I’m sorry I didn’t tell you. But I got back here just in time.” I answered.

“You need to at least leave me a note! You scared the hell out of me, do you know that Adeliah?” She almost screamed.

“Really, mum? You have never cared where I go after-school, why now?” I shot back.

“You’re my daughter, Adeliah. I need to take care of you, and that’s what I’m doing now.”

“Why today? What happened to any other days? Did you take care of me the way you should be a long time ago? No, mum, you didn’t.”

“How dare you? I worked my hardest! Dad isn’t here with us anymore, it’s all on me now.”

“You said he’s going to be back from his business trip!”

“Adeliah, I can’t keep this away from you anymore. Me and your dad, we’re over.” She said, tears started to stream down her face.

“What do you mean, mum?” I asked, please, don’t let it be what I think it is.

 “We…we’re divorced.”
