Thye's

It's already 3:00 am but I'm still wide awake. Since when did I became nocturnal? Well, it's been three days since we moved here in Thoss' grandpa's house. This is also the number of days that I've been awake all night long.

"What the fuck is wrong with me?" I muttered before rolling in my bed. It was then I remembered the half-farang looking spirit that I saw when I first came here. He's nowhere to be found. Or maybe he's just hiding from me.

I looked at my phone at the bedside table. I don't think that playing games can help me go to sleep. Maybe I should just go downstairs for a midnight snack. So I stood up from my bed, slipped through my slippers before going downstairs. I tried to lessen the noise of my footsteps so that I won't be able to disturb Thoss' sleep. I was already halfway through the stairs when I heard something. At first I was kind of scared because of the sobs that I heard but I remembered the man again. It must be coming from him. But why is he crying? I tiptoed my way through the stairs and sneak a peek at the living room. There I saw him sitting at the couch. Hugging his knees while crying. I can't totally see his face because its buried in his knees but I can clearly see his shoulders shaking indicating that he's actually crying. He can't seem to notice my presence since he's too engrossed with crying.

'This is my chance.'

I slowly walked towards him enough for him not to notice me as he was still crying his heart out. Finally, I'm now standing in front of him. A few more minutes and he seems to feel my presence already. He slowly raised his head to look at me and is shock to see my face.

"U-uhm, err, hello?" I greeted him and now his reaction is unexplainable. He looked like someone who has seen a spirit when in fact, he's the spirit and I should be the one reacting like that. Geez.

"A-ai'Type? Y-you can see me?!" He said.

"Y-yes, I can see you. B-but no. It's not Type. It's Thye. T-H-Y-E." I told him but he didn't say anything more. He just keeps looking at me with that kind of emotion in his eyes. Is that longing? Why is he sad? "Uhm, would you mind if I sit here?" I asked him and he looked at me again, confusion all over his face. "I'll take that silence as a yes." I said before sitting beside him and he just kept on looking at me as if he can't believe what he is seeing right now. "What?"

"You do know that I'm a spirit, right? That means, I'm dead. Aren't you scared of me?" He asked me and I can't help but snort.

"Man, you should see the ones I've encountered during our campings. And besides, you're far from being scary." I said with all my humor and he stared at me as if shocked with what he heard.
