"Gisingin na natin si Ate...baka nagugutom na siya."
"Hayaan niyo muna matulog si Esang..."
I woke up because I heard noises from my brother, and other family members. Why is it I feel that it is cold? Nasa'n ba ako? I opened my eyes and it revealed all of their faces that are so worried.
"Ate!"
"Anak."
"Kamusta na, Anak ko?"
Bumangon ako para mas makita ang paligid para maramdaman ko na I am back in reality again. I cannot recall anything. I am in the hospital?
"Anak... 'Wag muna." Si Nana.
Inalalayan ako ni Tata, si Riley naman nakatingin lang. "Okay ka na ba, Ate?"
Tumango ako. I am breathing fine, and I held my head to think about what happened but I really cannot see anything in my mind.
"Ano po bang nangyari?" I asked them for answers.
"May tumawag sa'min na nurse, sinugod ka raw sa ospital. Nahimatay ka raw. Dinala ka ng lalaki na customer daw natin. Ano bang nangyari sa'yo, Anak? Anong problema?" Nana was very fast in explaining what happened that made me more confused.
"Sita...dahan dahan lang..." Tata interrupted her.
There's a man who brought me to hospital?
Gosh! Naalala ko na nagkita kami ni Hugo! He's here! My body hairs started to rise because I was startled, and a little bit of scared that he is here.
Why is he here? How am I going to explain to them that I know him?
Or do I need to explain?
Do they know each other?
"Huwag na rin maraming tanong kay Esang. Pagpahingahin mo siya sa pag-iisip." Nakinig naman si Nana kay Tata dahil nanahimik ito.
Hinawakan lang ni Nana nang mahigpit ang kamay ko. "Salamat sa Diyos, maayos ka."
Ni-pat din ni Tata ang braso ko sign na okay na siya dahil okay ako. He smiled at me, and sighed heavily. I know them so well. I feel apologetic that I made them concerned.
"Kaya iyan ni Ate! Savior ko 'yan eh! Malakas, iyan!" Puri naman ni Riley. Sus ayaw pang pahalata na nag aalala siya. Natawa naman ako sakan'ya.
Wait, where is he?
Maybe, he left? That sounds good right, Chiara?
My feelings were mixed because I have a lot of thoughts that I cannot give meaning to. I breathed all the air, at umayos ng higa. Nahulog ako kakaisip sa nakita ko. I really saw him again.
Bumaling ako sa pinmto nang narinig namin na may nagikot ng door knob, may papasok. Nakita ko siyang normal lang kumilos sa harap namin. He has fruits that he is holding right now.
My heart skipped a beat, when the door finally revealed him. His eyes slide to all of us. Including me. He looked at me again, a slight glance that is such a big deal for me.
After all these years he is here. We are in each other's presence. He is safe. It was like a weight of an elephant removed from my chest automatically. I have been thinking of him in the quiet days of my life, to know that he is doing good I feel satisfied.
"Magandang gabi po." Magalang na bati niya sa'min. My eyes followed the things he held on to, and I watched him carefully as he looked normal speaking to us.
My family received him with a shock plastered on their faces. They went silent. What am I going to do?
Hugo threw a glance on my side, again.
