That One Match

Chapter 08

HEXION already flew back to Barcelona when I was still in the hospital. Nang araw na iyon ay nagkaroon din kami ng seryosong usapan ni Blank.

I gave us another chance. For the second time, we matched again.

"Don't you think you're being unfair!? Come on!"

Isang galit na client ang naabutan ko nang makarating ako sa opisina Lunes ng umaga.

Essey is trying to explain things to the man but he has no time to listen. All he did was blabber nonsense words.

"Is there a problem here?"

I butted in. My employees greeted me but I gestured that they go back to their seats. Naiwan si Essey, Franco na pumipigil sa lalake at ako.

"Follow me to my office, sir."

When we reached my office, I asked the two to leave us. Medyo nagdalawang-isip pa sila pero sumunod din agad.

"What is our problem, Sir Ivan?"

"I came here to pull out my deal with your company. Hindi ko na itutuloy ang pinag-usapang event na i'o-organisa nyo."

He was raging in anger. Halata iyon sa namumula nyang mukha. He kept on massaging his temple, too.

"We presented our rules before the signing of the contract, sir Ivan. Hindi po kayo pwedeng bumack out basta-basta lalo na't in three days gaganapin na ang event."

I tried to talk to him in a calm manner.

"Pero ayoko na nga! Bakit ba ang tigas ng ulo mo!?"

He stomped his feet and stood up from the chair. Pinandilatan nya ako ng mata.

"Sino ka ba sa inaakala mo!? Akala mo kung sinong sikat na tao! Hoy, babae! Ke bagu-bago mo pa lang sa industriyang ito!"

I almost laughed at how he talked back to me.

"Sir Ivan, if you want to break the deal between us, fine."  Hinalungkat ko ang drawer ko na naglalaman ng mga kontrata at hinanap ang kanya. Then, I gave him his contract.

"Feel free to drop us but we will expect a damaging pay, sir. Hindi biro ang nagawa na ng mga tao ko para sa event mo."

"Wala akong babayaran ni singko!"

I stood up elegantly and walked towards him.

"It's either you pay us or we sue you. Choose."

Nagdilim ang paningin nito at agad na kinuha ang vase na nasa gilid ng table ko. Napapikit ako sa pag-aakalang sa akin nya ibabato pero laking pasalamat ko na lamang at sa sahig ito tumama.

Franco and Essey were probably just waiting outside the door kaya nang marinig nila ang pagbasag ay agad nilang binuksan ang pinto.

Essey ran to me, while Franco called the guard and escorted Sir Ivan outside.

Nang tumahimik na ang opisina ay kinausap ko ang dalawa kong empleyado.

"Anong nangyari kay sir Ivan? Why did he suddenly cancel us?"

"Wala po kaming alam, ma'am. We tried to call her fiance but she is not responding."

Essey explained. Tiningnan ko si Franco.

"As far as we know, wala naman pong ibang kinuhang event organizer si sir Ivan. Talagang nagkansela lang po, ma'am Pent."

Napaisip ako. When Ivan and his fiance Zee signed a deal with us, they were both excited. In fact, they were very in-touched with us with all of the preparations.
