That One Match

Chapter 14

T.A. is driving me back home after my coffee talk with his mom. Akala ko kanina wala nang makakapagpagulat pa sa akin sa araw na ito bukod sa makita sya rito. Iyon pala, mayroon pa.

"You've been staring at me since we got inside the car. May problema ba?"

I hushed and shook my head.

"Hindi mo man lang sinabi na ikaw pala ay isang lawyer!"

Natawa ito.

"Paano ko sasabihin eh hindi mo naman tinatanong."

"Kahit na. Sana sinabi mo man lang, para hindi ako sobrang gulat kanina nang ipakilala ka ng mommy mo as my mom's lawyer."

Napailing ito at napakamot sa ulo.

"Anyway, thank you for helping me with this business transfer."

I was talking to T.A. while replying to Blank's message.

"It was nice that your mom already prepared everything. May will pa nga kaya medyo madali."

"I will leave everything to you from now on. Hindi ko talaga  himay ang linya ng business na iyan ni mommy. I will talk to dad about the transfer. I'm sure he'll agree with me. Tsaka, mas mapapalago naman ni Aunt Alexea iyan."

"Can you leave me your business card so I can call you if something happens?"

He glanced at me quickly, then returned his stares on the road. 

I took my wallet and pulled out a card. Inilagay ko ito sa malapit sa cellphone nya.

"Babalik na ako ng Pinas bukas, kaya baka di na tayo magkita."

We reached the red light, so he stopped the car.

"What time is your flight?"

I gave him my flight's details.

"Mukhang piangtatagpo talaga tayo ah. We're flying together."

I covered my mouth in surprise.

"Wow! Talaga?"

He nodded.

"So paano? Kita na lang tayo sa airport?"

He smiled and offered me a ride tomorrow. I gladly accepted without hesitation.

Did I just find a new friend?

HEXION AND I did fly home together. Nang makarating kami ng Pinas ay doon na lang kami naghiwalay. I was actually planning to introduce him to Blank, but he was feeling sorry because he needed to go somewhere right after we arrived.

"Love, nandito na tayo."

Nakatulog ako sa kotse ni Blank mula airport hanggang sa bahay nya. I'll be spending a night in his house because Asul wanted to see me. Nakabalik na pala ang bata.

Pagmulat ko ng mga mata ay nasa kotse pa rin ako. Blank is already standing on the door of the car. I pouted and pulled him for a hug. He smiled and kissed my forehead.

"Come. Pasok na tayo."

I nodded. Inayos ko ang shirt na suot ko. I tied my hair before holding his hand.

Pagpasok na pagpasok namin, agad na tumakbo si Asul palapit sa akin.

"Tita Pent!" He gave me a sweet kiss on my cheeks.

"Hello, Asul."

I kissed him back. Blank's mother looked at me. I smiled at her. We're still not friends, but she is no longer getting in between Blank and I. I am not expecting she'll accept me right away. I know she was hurt, or maybe is still hurt.
