(Just remembered that I actually get a good bit here that doesnt focus on fighting. So now it's good 'ol life for Y/n and the others. For a time, at least...)

(And also like...after the wholesale combat class bi-)

Y/n: "I'm telling you rosebud, I'm fine. See? I just needed a couple days."

Y/n twirled himself around speedily go showcase his point as he and Ruby made their way through Beacons corridors. Much to his delight, he was in his normal getup instead of his uniform, seeing as they were headed to combat class where uniforms are not required.

Ruby huffed slightly at his antics.

Ruby: "Look I'm just worried okay? That was a scare for us both...I mean are you sure you're ok? Do you even remember how many times you freaked out at first?"

Stopping his display, he faced her as they continued their walk, somewhat hurriedly down the corridor.

Y/n: "Look I understand Rosebud, I really do, but it's been a week now and I'm feeling a lot better. It'll leave a scar, but im back in action. And I'll be ready next time."

Sensing no victory in the agruement, Ruby finally relented as they neared the combat room.

Ruby: "*sigh* Ok. Let's just get to class. Just promise me you wont push yourself too hard, okay?"

Y/n merely smiled at her as they stopped in front of the doorway that lead into Professor Goodwitchs' Combat Class.

Y/n: "I promise, Rosebud. Now come on, let's not keep the whole school waiting."

Smiling slightly at his exaggeration, they pushed open the doors just in time to hear the buzzer of a match coming to a finish. The board above the ring displayed all of team CRDLs' aura, as well as the aura of none other than Pyrrha Nikos.

All of team CRDL lay defeated on the floor while Pyrrha stood in the center, completely untouched, such being proven by her full aura on display, and a satisfied smile on her face. She had to admit, ever since the stunt Cardin and his team had pulled a few days ago, the idea of handing their asses to them was on her mind.

Professor Glynda Goodwitch spoke up from the edge of the ring, tapping away at the large tablet in her hands.

Glynda: "Excellent work Mrs. Nikos. You should have no problem qualifying for the tournament."

Pyrrha: "Thank you professor!"

Glyndas' attention turned to the new arrivals in her classroom, who by now had moved to sit next to the rest of their teammates in the bleachers.

Glynda: "How kind of you to finally join us Mrs. Rose, Mr. L/n. I do believe we have time for one more match before class ends."

She tapped away at her tablet for a moment before speaking again.

"I dont believe I've ever actually seen you fight in my class Mr. L/n, for obvious reasons. Now that your weaponry is no longer an issue, why dont you step down into the ring?"

The young shadows' expression instantly grew excited, as within a few seconds he was in the middle of the ring, already having summoned his combat gear.

Luckily, team RWBYs' seats were close enough to the ring that he could move around in it without moving too far from Ruby. They had yet to find out what would happen if the strange string that connected them when he strayed away was touched, and they weren't in any rush to find out.
