Chapter 7

Rick's POV

I know I messed up big time. But can you blame me. I need her at most times but she's not here. she's too busy with work, she don't have time for me, for us. Trish, it is true that she's my officemate, she's one of the engineers Im working with right now,we are both assigned in RFJ's company. WE spent the whole day at work and since we're working on the same team we used to spend time together a lot. She's smart and focus. She's good to talk with. She is fun to be with and lastly she have time for me.

I decided to meet up with my friends. I am so stressed I want some distractions. I need to clear my mind. I have so much in my plate right now, two constructions under me, my dad being sick and my relationship with Dane.

alam mo konti na lang pa-sisig na yang barbeque, grabe dikdikin mo ba naman? Mark, one of his friends said

huh? he said

pucha pre, kasama k aba talaga namin? Ben, his other friend exclaimed

I messed up big time dude. I messed up he said desperately

whoa! messed up? ikaw? Mark said

Dane and I had a fight he sadly said

ano ka highschool? normal ang magaway pre! syota mo yun eh! Ben said

girlfriend hindi syota he corrected

pareho lang yun eh Mark said

pre, paano natin malalaman daldal mo. Rick, what happened? ben calmly asked

we're both busy with work at first I still understand how in demand she is. You know how proud I am about her right? but... these past few months its getting worse, I mean she works too much that she even forgot about our anniversary, I need to cancel some plans because she cant file a leave, we barely talk and see each other, she have no time for me he said

nasan dun messed up? Mark asked

Dude, do you know Trish? Engr. Trish Bermudez? he asked

si Trish? yung partner mo sa Batanggas project? yung galing states? Ben curiously asked, that make Rick nod his head as he drink from the bottle of beer

so what with Trish? dude don't tell me... Mark said with an unexplainable look. They know Rick, not once in his life that he cheat or cheated on someone. He is never a playboy. Among them three he is always the one who will knock some sense in their head so this things that Rick is trying to say is a total surprise for them.

I messed up dude. Trish and I... We... We're always together since we work for the Batanggas project, we had a good raport when in comes to work, we have the same interest, we're always together dude. She has time for me unlike... Rick explained but was cut off by Ben

unlike Dane, unlike Dane who is always busy with work, unlike Dane who forgot your anniversary, unlike Dane who has no time for you, unlike Dane your girlfriend. Dude, Dane is your girlfriend? Does Trish knows about it? Ben asked as if giving some realizations to his friend

she knows. I told her I have a girlfriend, she sometimes notice me being grumpy or annoyed, then she will asked, I told her about Dane. I don't how and why, but I told her that she doesn't have time for me, and Trish dude, she was there with me, she listens to me, She was there when I found out about dad's health condition, she was there dude. Trish is with me when Dane is busy with work. Rick said

so, she knows you're in a relationship. what are you and Trish? Mark said

I don't know he confusedly said

you know it dude. you know it! did you sleep with her? Ben asked

Rick just look at them and took the bottle of beer in his mouth and drink it in one go. That moment his friend knew the answer, they knew how messed up Rick is right now. And they never knew that Rick could do it after what he and Dane have been to.

does Dane know about this? Mark asked him

Yes, I think... he said

di ka sigurado? dude two things, alam ba nya o hindi? Ben asked him

She, she saw us earlier this morning in a coffee shop. she saw us while we're having some breakfast, I didn't know she'll drop by there at that time. Trish even greeted her good morning while her hands are wrapped around my arms he said

dude?! ano yon? bat ganun? ano sabi ni Dane? Ben exclaimed. they've know each other since elementary days they are the bestfriends, and since Rick started dating Dane another friendship build with them, him, Mark, Rick and Dane. If Rick is like their oldest brother then Dane is their baby sister.

wala, she just smiled at us as if it is normal to see your boyfriend with someone else he said

dude, gago ka ba? knowing Dane for sure she just thinks that she is your colleague. ganun kalaki tiwala nya sayo eh. ano gusto mo? mageskandalo sya don? Mark said trying to be calm

tapos after work, nagpasama si Trish sa mall to buy new dress. sinamahan ko, akita ko si Dane sa mall. at first I didn't know if she sees us or what I even get annoyed kasi inisip ko na.. baka...

gago! akala mo sinusundan ka ni Dane? ikaw na nagsabi busy yon sa work paanong susundan ka pa nya? Ben said disappointment written all over his face

after I sent Trish home, pumunta ko sa condo ni Dane, hinintay ko syang makauwi bago ako pumasok. I confronted her, I asked her kung...kung sinundan nya ko. tapos she said she didn't even know I was in the mall. hindi nya raw alam... he continued

di ka lang gago dude! tang aka rin! ben said. Hindi niya alam, it means if you did not conclude of stalking she wouldn't know, tapos ngayon iinom ka kasi nalaman na nya? Mark added.

yah, see how messed up I am? he said and no one dares to speak for almost two minutes the Rick says, but I am not sure that she knows Im having an affair with Trish. Wala syang binanggit about it, she just got mad of my accusations of her being a stalker. he added trying to analyze things

Look dude, what would you think if Dane is at the mall with someone? knowing that she and the guy are already together that same morning, what would you think? Ben asked him

I don't know.. I cannot think about it, I still love Dane but Trish... with Trish its something Rick said. Ben cannot bare how stupid his friend is right now so he stood up and leave his two friends. bahala ka dude, basta ayusin mo yan. si Dane ang girlfriend mo pinapaalala ko lang. Mark una na ko, kausapin mo yang kaibigan mo.

Dude, Dane will never ever jump in to any conclusions right away. you should know, ikaw boyfriend diba? kaibigan lang kami. and as her friend alam kong hindi sya basta basta nagagalit, mahaba ang pasensya nun eh. Try to talk to her dude, you start by apologizing to her. Mark said trying to be mature one at this moment

apologize? dude, if she only spend her time with me I wouldn't seek anyone's attention in the first place.

say sorry for accusing her being your stalker dude. kahit yun na muna, then talk to her about her work explained things to her. and please dude, stop your affair with Trish it will cause you no good. trust me.

But Rick didn't say anything instead he looks away and drink with that Mark said Dude, payong kapatid hanggat maaga pa ayusin mo yan. If you cannot stop seeing trish then break up with Dane. I have to go. Umuwi ka na rin. then left him alone
