A small mistake,
a wrong move,
can cost one's dream. The dream they worked so hard for in order to accomplish it.
You tried so hard for it...but in the end...your own self betrayed you...
Was it worth it?

*Sicheng's POV*
I woke up and breathed heavily. My chest was moving up and down intensively, trying desperately to breathe some oxygen into my lungs. I placed one of my hands next to my heart. It was beating so loudly that the sound echoed to my ears.
The same nightmare. Again.
It was a repetitive circle. I would dance, try to do a move and then fall.
I never had the chance to stand up, and most importantly I could never dance again.
Never.
Even if I tried so hard...went against everyone's odds to achieve this...
Fate had different plans for me.
When I told them I wanted to learn ballet and become a dancer everyone laughed.
"You can't become a dancer."
"Ballet is for girls."
"You should focus on your studies."
But I just laughed back and told them that I could do it. I could become a dancer, my dream would come true with or without their support.
So I did it.
I really did become a dancer.
But sometimes I think...
That maybe they were right. It was foolish of me to believe in myself and my dreams.

"You're late Sicheng." His dance teacher pointed out.
"Sorry madam. It won't happen again!" The boy said and run inside next to the other kids.
"Ok, now that everyone is here we can continue the lesson." The teacher announced and looked strictly at Sicheng.
He automatically lowered his gaze, feeling ashamed that he wasn't in time, but instead of focusing on this negative aspect, he decided to pay attention to the lesson.
After a while the lesson ended but as Sicheng was about to leave the class, his teacher called him.
"Wait Sicheng!" She said and the boy turned around.
"Yes?"
"We need to talk. Do you have some time?"
He nodded and started walking towards her.
"Look." She said and just from this word, Sicheng knew that the reason they had to talk wasn't a good one. "I know that you're doing your best and you like ballet but..." She stalled. "It's not enough." She announced. "You are not good enough Sicheng."
These exact words, put together in the same sentence, hurt the boy more than he would have imagined. He bit his bottom lip to prevent himself from crying and held tightly his back. No words left his mouth, he didn't have the courage to form a sentence.
"However..." His teacher continued and smiled tenderly. "I can tell that you're passionate about what you're doing Sicheng." She exclaimed and touched his shoulder. "If you practice more I believe that you can become a great dancer." She said and left the room.
