Harry had invited her to join 'Dumbledore's Army'.

He had meant to ask her during the proposed outing to Hogsmeade but she had turned down the invitation so he caught her afterwards ( "Why didn't you just tell me?" "Malfoy was right there!" ) . A group that would learn defensive magic from Harry, who had the experience, to protect themselves from the future of possible attacks that Umbridge refused to acknowledge. She had grown steadily more terrible over the past weeks, becoming High Inquisitor and evaluating all the teachers. Meredith said yes immediately. She wasn't going to risk her life over the Ministry's hurt feelings.

Meredith increasingly spent more time out of the Slytherin Common Room, her friendship with the trio growing steadily over the recent weeks. Ron shared her love for eating and she had shared with him the box of treats she had asked her father to send, allowing them to instantly bond. She spent her afternoons studying with Hermione in the library or the Gryffindor Common Room ( They had warmly taken her in like she was one of their own ). In Harry's case however, whenever it was just the two of them, Meredith did a lot of the talking. He didn't talk much but he liked to listen. Liked to listen to Meredith share about her childhood, her time at Beauxbatons, when she had lost her mother over the summer. He could empathise with that. Meredith didn't have a lot of people who could.
