"Stupefy!" Meredith shouted, throwing the spell over her shoulder. The loud crash of crystal orbs behind her indicated that she had downed one of the Death Eaters. Another Death Eater lunged forward through the cloud of dust but Meredith elbowed him ( or her ) hard in the masked face; everyone was yelling, some were crying in pain, and thunderous crashes resounded as the shelves collapsed upon themselves, the echoing distorted voices of seers adding to the cacophony of chaos. But all Meredith could think was Harry's previous order. Run.

She skidded to a halt at the end of row ninety-seven, before taking off to the right, right on Harry's tail. Something heavy struck the side of her face but she merely ducked her head and took a fistful of Neville's robes, calling out, "C'mon, Neville!" Straight ahead, she could see the door they had come from which had remained slightly ajar, the glittering bell-jar in sight. She pelted through the doorway, Harry, still clutching tightly to the prophecy, waited for the others to tumble over the threshold before slamming the door shut with a bang that rang in her ears.

"Colloportus!" Hermione gasped and the door sealed itself with a grotesque squelch. Meredith clutched her sides, winded, as she did a visual analysis of the group around her. It was just the four of them. Harry heaved out, "Where—where are the others?" Meredith shook her head and whispered back, fear clutching at her chest, "Ron, Luna, and Ginny aren't here."
