"I swear that kid's robes are inside out."

Meredith chortled as she watched a gaggle of freshly minted nervous first years stream through the doors of the Great Hall, with Mcgonagall at the helm like a shepherd and a herd of lost sheep. It felt so strange to realise that merely a year ago, she was ( technically ) one of them, another ( taller ) head amongst the sea of curious kids who had yet to enjoy the wonders that Hogwarts brought; that this exact time the year before, she had come into this ( insane ) school eyes wide shut and unaware of the things that were to come.

A lot had happened since then, both good and bad, heart-warming and heart-wrenching. Meredith had met the people she was quite certain were about to be her forever friends and had pissed off and fought some Death Eaters. Yet, if you were to tell her of all that was to happen, Meredith wouldn't have traded it for the world.

Beauxbatons had been her first step into the realm of magic, showing her the elegance and grace that magic could bring, showing her the finer side of life. It kept her warm and coddled in its embrace.
